why do some providers ask for work info

I was getting in contact with a provider and she asked for my work location and number. I gave it to her then she asked "who would I ask to speak to?" I felt really uncomfortable about this so I didn't go through with it. Why would they call our workplace?

This is a very common means of identity verification.  She will call your place of business and fabricate a story about confirming a doctor's appointment or something along those lines simply to verify that you have not given her a fake name.

Not all providers do this but many of them do especially if you have no provider references.

If this is a problem, see a gal who will verify with other less invasive methods; but I have not ever heard of a case where someone was done dirty on account of their work place screening.

If you are uncomfortable giving a provider your full name and/or place of employment, you should sign up for one of those screening services. This way, you give your info to this "middle man" just once. They screen you and if you're approved, you'll have a code to give providers so that they can find out if you're legit without being privy to your personal information. I use DateCheck (most widely accepted, I think) & Preferred411 but there are others.

Freaked me out a bit at first too, but got over it.  Only one asked for it, gave it to her, along with name and company website info.  She never made the call, and verified me through the web search.

If I were ever to see another, it would be datecheck or something.  I trust this one with my personal info, but don't believe I'd do it again if it could be avoided.  If they accept one of the verification agencies, that's the way to go.  Of course if you have them over to your house, it's all a moot point anyway!

They ask for the business name and location as well as a phone number so that they can check to see that you are who you say you are.

The first thing they will most likely do is check to be sure the area code for where you work matches where you say you are, and where you say the business is. Then she may Google the business name and phone number to see that that number is associated with the business name.

If that all checks out, she will make a call and say something like;
"this is Lisa from Dr Smith's office calling to confirm his appointment".

Then the call should be connected to you, and she can simply tell you that it is her and she is confirming your work information (this also gives her the chance to be sure the person that works there is the same person who contacted her).

instead, as a newbie, why not get verified through Preferred411, Date-Check or RoomService 2000?

THEY will ask for personal information to verify you, if you have not seen ladies who are members.. But you only give it out one time, and not to providers directly.

After that you will be able to see hundreds of top notch ladies who will not require personal information. And use many agencies as well.

I do not give out personal info and I see 95% or more of the ladies I want.

to confirm you are not LE of course!
