you do not control your whitelist..only the provider can give you a whitelist or an ok..some use it..some dont bother..sometimes you can ask the provider for one..some will give you one without youre asking..read the whitelist section on ter..it will explain it better than i..
How exactly does a client go about adding a provider to his white list, because I don't see a button that says "add to white list" or something along those lines on any provider profiles? Is it something that's initiated by the client or the provider?

You don't whitelist a provider. You can write a review of a provider. A provider can whitelist you. A whitelilsting is a provider saying that you are okay for other providers to see. It is similar to a verification on dated check or an OK on P411. Mac is correct. Some will whitelist you if you ask them to, Some will do it on their own. Some ladies will use whitelisting as part of their reference checks, and some won't. Here is the link Mac was talking about:
