Whitelisting Question

I wrote a couple of reviews which probably wont make it, im not a good writer and am a little shy writing these things.

My Question is. Can a well known provider or any provider white list you if you havent posted any reviews? My thoughts are if your whitelisted then references wont be nessesary in most cases.

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't whitelist someone that I don't know for a fact(2 or more meetings)is a completely safe gentleman.
And NO whitelisting does not eliminate the need for references. It just serves as yet another resource to research in the verification process.

I don't understand your reasoning. You can't 100% say that anybody is a complete safe gentleman, no matter how many times you see him.

Thanks for the imput I'm learning a lot in a short period of time.

I will make sure if I decide to use my handle when making an appointment that the provider will whitelist me right away. I dont see why anyone should have to see anyone more than once to be whitelisted. No offence towards anybody here but it's just another persons opnion

A provider is no more obligated to whitelist a hobbyinst than is a hobbyist obligated to review a provider. You can ask, but it is up to the provider if she wants to whitelist you.

A word of caution. If you insist on being whitelisted by a provider you see, not only might she not whitelist you, but if you come across too strongly to the point of being an ass, she might not even give you a reference.

What a strange world it is here. I would figure it is her cost of doing business by whitelisting and giving references. Well thanks for the info GaGambler and I will continue to pay for my vip membership no matter what happens in the review area.

I am living proof. I have no reviews, yet I do have one whitelisting, ironically from a provider that I only met socially.

Whitelistings are no substitute for references and rightly so. Very few providers will accept whitelists as references. I do have to admit that sometimes a board presence will go a long ways towards screening. I have no review, but I have literally thousands of posts and I have had providers accept that once they were able to verify that I was indeed the person behind the handle. A PM will accomplish that, but of course you do need to be a VIP member to be able to PM.

Like yourself I have no reviews left posted and I think I like that just fine,   but don't you feel a bit guilty sometimes?
My Whitelistings have helped the screening process many times.

If so, that is a fair question. I don't feel comfortable writing reviews with enough "juicy details" to get approved, so I don't write them.

As far as guilt goes, I do try and contribute to TER in other ways, including paying for VIP and contributing on this and other TER boards.
