Hi, i'm new to this hobby

I want to meet a provider who is asking for references, how do i get that ???  Before this one I meet another provider 2 years ago. Can I use that as a reference?

Also i gave the name of the old provider, but the new  provider is asking if I can provided? Not sure how this work. Any help

I would suggest... if you don't want to see a provider who will just see anyone... initially going through a reputable agency as they do a thorough background check, etc. for your initiation... ;) You will then have a recent agency and provider reference.

Personally, I prefer an agency reference as I know they screen well.

Happy hobbling! :)

Love,

Courtney

...but I will point out that agencies are just like independent providers in that there are reputable ones & not so reputable ones. However the OP  decides to get started he needs to be certain the person/people he is dealing with are reputable. Additionally some agencies won't give references & some independent providers won't accept references from agencies. It sounds like you have agencies that have shown you they can be trusted. That is excellent. I do agree that an agency is a good way to start just be sure they have a good reputation for service & reliability.

Yep. In the south most just find out the guy's name and room number then check to make sure he is registered in that name. They rarely ask for employment or references in New Orleans.

Couple of things. It's not likely that a provider will accept a reference from someone you saw 2 years ago.

Courtney's suggestion about an agency is a good one but read what I replied to her.

One way to solve your delimma is to research P411 (preferred 411). It is a verification service. You work with them on being verified. They vouch for you with providers that are members of P411. P411 providers can indicate they are newbie friendly and will see you. Some will still want some information about you beyond the P411 verification but it is worth it to get P411 verification and as you establish a good reputation & history  things will become much easier. You can find P411 on the web.

It's always nice to put in some knowledge and have another fill in the blanks. :)

P.S. I meant good hobbying, not hobbling, haha. That was my phone. ;)

Courntey

might not even remember you, so using her as a reference is probably not a good idea.  Besides, you should never use a provider as a reference without first asking her if she will be a reference for you.  Preferred 411 is a good idea, as Gina has a pretty good rep of working with guys to get them verified.  DateCheck and RoomService2000 are the other large verification sites.  RS2K is prominent in the midwest more than anywhere else.

A provider who saw you 2 years ago can't vouch for your activities today. Many providers and hobbyists get busted or go nuts over time, which is why most won't accept a reference that old unless this is a gal you saw a lot, vs. just one time. Join P411 because you're starting over.

When I first started exploring this world, I checked out agencies in my area to see which seemed legit and safe to work with. I had a male friend of mine attempt to book using a cell phone and FAKE name. 2 responded immediately with "ok, abc and xyz are available right now, who do you want to see?"
...SMH
That's not to say all agencies are shady that way- there are two agencies in my area that I accept references from, bc they have shown trustworthiness and reliability. I have a lot of respect for decent agency owners- it's an industry ripe for abuse/exploitation by its criminalizes status. If a provider or client is ripped off, there's really no recourse at all.

That is definitely an exception and not the rule. Every lady is different in what they accept as references but I think the majority of providers won't take a reference older than 6 months. Also you should definitely inform the provider if you are going to use her as a reference. I agree with the others also in that you should consider joining P411.

Now if the provider from 2 years ago remembers you, (and you asked her if you can use her) and if the new provider is willing to take the old reference, then it can't hurt to try. But I definitely wouldn't count on it
