You're saying that a blog, by an anti-sex crime crusader (prostitution, porn, predators, etc), who scours the net for any and all negative CL stories has convinced you that the hobby is too dangerous and sleazy and not for you?
OK, I can see that, but what you don't seem to get is that responsible ladies and gents of the hobby want to avoid the problems you mention as much as you do. That is why we don't rely on CL for our info and contacts.
The hobby isn't for everyone, and if you decide to take a pass on it, I wish you well.
It is definitely true when they say LE frequently stings CL. There is also some bad stuff going on through that site: -mothers pimping daughters -pimps pimping minors -providers using own homes & getting busted -rings getting busted -people jumping out of closets at motels & attacking clients/stealing money. It's all happening in the past, present, & future. In my estimation it appears that CL is a haven for poverty, drugs, and sexual predators. It does look like LE would rather have the source(providers) than the clients. You can see for yourself by looking up "mycrimespace". I have read enough crap that I will not attempt to hobby. Regardless it doesn't seem the self employed can get a reference anyway.

The world is full of people with preconceived prejudices looking for the most cursory evidence to vindicate their particular myopia. Fare ye well in your justifications for sexual enslavement, and take solace there are so many of your ilk that passively accept one or two sources of puritan engineered propaganda that you can commiserate with.
I am not trying to be controversial or start a debate. I am not an opponent of the hobby. Many people ask about CL and these are the realities of the site. CL appears to attract LE and a negative element that gives the hobby a bad name. The research just brought into perspective the dangers in the hobby.
I am against the exploitation of minors and I hope that everyone here is agreeable on that topic.
There are many unknowns & considerations when you don't know any providers.
Independents (most that I find on TER are CL listers), agencies, my home, their place, their hotel/motel, my hotel?

Yeah; CL is like Dodge City before Wyatt Erp came to town. You can find some eager to please neophyte gems, web savvy perennials taking advantage of some free advertising, profiteering ROBs, and Sherriff's department stings. If you're street smart you can ID the ROBs before you dial, and Texas Two Step around the stings before you put your phone down.
Until you're properly steeled; stick to the reviewed providers. The more reviews the better! Because a provider with a good track record has more to lose with each review written about her.
Your first 2 bullet points: mothers pimping daughters and pimps pimping minors are particularly disturbing. Those kinds of activity I have no problem seeing prosecuted. IMHO blue-noses use these stories to condemn the entire hobby.
