When to update services offered

When is it appropriate to submit a problem report to change a providers services list?

With the whole concept of YMMV it seems very arbitrary when/if one should submit a change when the services received do not match the list on TER.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

I'd say it depends on the nature of the service that has changed. The most basic and important you think it is, the more useful to other mongers the report will be.

What's on the profile page should not be YMMV type things. That's just someone creating a bad profile to begin with or someone submitting a bad change -- which might be part of what you're asking.

Basically, if you have a session and something on the profile got you to schedule but then you found it was not available you should report it. TER probably will not take action for one report but if they see a pattern of many guys reporting the profile is misleading on some service they will.

Now, flipping it around, if you get something that is not listed don't feel like you need to rush out and report it should be on the profile. Think about that in the YMMV context, and perhaps even talk with the provider about it. Just be cause you got something it's not clear you should be putting in the profile or even the review.

I mostly agree with jensen:

TER doesn't tell us how the sausage is made, but I am also thinking that they would keep track of new Reviews wherein the reviewer entered info contrary to the existing Profile (e.g., Profile BBBJ; His experience CBJ). THAT ALONE will not change the Profile. As those new Reviews accumulate with similar info, TER might alter the Profile. --OR-- You might report it to TER outside of the Review form. Once again, I don't think they'd change a Profile based on a Report without checking the "history" of the Review Forms themselves.
.
Based on that assumption, I do encourage Reviewers to PLEASE enter or change info on the pre-filled form to reflect your own experience. DO NOT EXPECT and DO NOT BE DISAPPOINTED when TER doesn't alter the Profile immediately based on one Review. Having the timeline of altered services will help TER make the changes.
.
And, if you get more than the Profile describes, change the data on the Review form (change CBJ to BBBJ) and maybe even describe it in the juicy details but DO NOT EXPECT and DO NOT BE DISAPPOINTED when TER doesn't alter the Profile immediately based on one Review.
