I submitted a review of a lady I'd met through CL, and it was turned down for "Bad Website". After carefully looking at the guidelines, the only thing that jumps out at me is the email address issue -- the lady didn't put her email address in the ad, just the auto-forward that CL uses. Should I have listed that forwarding address instead of the hotmail address she actually uses?
(I've checked; her actual ad is still live, and will be for quite a while. I've seen other CL reviews get approved, too.)
One of my recent reviews was also rejected for the same reason. Like Thirsty said, make sure the link is entered correctly and re-submit. Mine was eventually posted.
Here's the thing she does not post a phone number in her ad. Am I to assume you listed one on her profile page? If she does not list it in her ad what are people supposed to look her up on since also CL does not post a real email address. On top of all that she includes no pictures so what do you say for accuracy of pictures? She does have a unique name though that's one thing she has going.
So basically it seems we would have to communicate first with this girl to gather all this info before we started to check her out on TEr. And even then would we even get to see any pictures? And then on top of all that the ad will be down in a week anyway. If you ask me I am surprised TER even allows CL ads as a web site for a review being how temporary in nature they are.
I didn't list her phone number in the review (OK, I did the '555-555-1212" thing that we were instructed to do) because she asked me not to do so -- she prefers initial contact by email. I *did* list her real email address. She will send an accurate pic once she feels more comfortable with the person, and she posts a CL ad about every 3-4 weeks. I think CL keeps the ads up longer than a week, too -- according to the email they sent me about a post, the posts stay live for 45 days.
OK here is the thing though nothing you put in the review of her can be verified by looking at her ad since she does not list anything and CL does the masked e-mail address. I think this is what TER is looking for as a minimum for any Provider advertisement.
It's fine if she wants to do e-mail only as a contact but she actually needs to list her real e-mail in her ad. But of course CL has some filters that do not allow this either sometimes but there are ways around it.
Whats to stop me from being pissed that my GF broke up with me putting her phone number and email address in a review and using your girls CL ad as her web page link? Guys do this all the time on CL I think TER wants to have a little more credibility than CL.
And 45 days for the posts staying live that may well be in your market CL has diffrent rules for diffrent markets, I forgot about those. For LA it is 7 or 14 days I believe.
