She possibly wanted you to PM her through Ter mail to her ter name. I sometimes get that request as another way to confirm its me. Provided she has reviews and is set up on TER this shoudnt be a problem
I sent a provider some verification info, and she replied with this: "I see that Lyricist is white-listed on TER but that is not the TER user name that comes up when searching by this e-mail address on TER. So that I know you aren't using someone else's TER info please send me an e-mail from the e-mail account associated with TER user name lyricist."
You can only search reviewers by their TER handle. Their is no search available for emails of reviewers or VIP members. You can only search for providers using email address.

This should return results of all reviews AND post made by that user/alais.
Now, If you emailed her stating that your handle is such-n-such but the email assocaited with you TER account is not the same, then it will show up as not having an acct. She needs to verify your account and account history. Send her a private message to validate your account or an email fronmt he account associated with your TER account.
is to exchange PMs. Otherwise anybody could claim to be a TER member JoeSchmo who is white listed & has a good review history. It's a good supplement to other screening. skb
I agree that PM is the best way for her to know that you are you.
Before I was VIP (no PM) or when contacting others who don't want to use PM I would sometimes use hobby email account to say something like "To prove that this email account is really me, impposter, I will post a message to your recent ad on TER that says, "Great picture. (The blue sun melts the red snow.) ... "" Then I post the secret signal to TER. She might then reply to my TER message with the secret countersign, "And the purple water runs uphill."
(Pssst: Don't use that sign and countersign pairing. They're from Get Smart so everyone knows them.)
Your private hobby email is now linked to your TER handle through the public coded message but only she will know your email address.
The "search reviewer" option has two boxes, one says "username" and the other "email."
So, for example, I get a text from a guy saying his TER username is "Biggestdickintheworld" and I search and that username is white listed. How do I know the text is from him?
Two ways: 1) he sends a PM on TER from that user name
Or 2) ask him to email me from the email account associated with his TER username (you can't ask what the email is... he has to EMAIL you from that email to prove it's him)
Another scenario, the guy emails and says his username is "Biggestdickintheworld" and I want to confirm I am talking to this user, so I search with the username first, then I search with the email. The same user should pop up both times.
It sounds like he emailed her from a different email account than the one associated with his username and when she searched with both the email and the username, it didn't match.
Emailing from the email account associated with your username DOES confirm the TER membership associated with it. I do the same with Date-check and P411 memberships if they email me directly rather than contacting me through those sites, but P411 you have to get the username and look up the email on their P411 profile... you can't search with just email on there, but getting an email from the one listed on their account confirms they are that member.
Now why would I want to publish exactly HOW I screen people on my website or a discussion board. Do I really want to give L E the perfect blueprint on how to get me?
It's merely explaining to someone who is asking a question about why a provider would ask him to email her from the email on his membership account to verify his account.
There is a hell of a lot more I do for screening that I won't tell anyone. I like having my secrets...
I believe someone else had posted earlier that only providers see this option, which may explain why it's confusing why a provider would ask for it if you can't see how it verifies your account.
Now you know!

I only see "username" and I am currently a VIP.
Does "email" show up for providers who pay for VIP?
Unfortunately it looks like your attempt to purchase VIP membership has failed due to your card being declined. Good news is that we have several other payment options that you could try.
