I've seen a couple references on the boards about going for incall and having to pass through a law enforcement (LE) check done by the incall management team.
That's OK with me -- I understand the need to be safe, and I'm not LE, but...
What should I expect to happen when I go to a place that has an LE check? What's the usual procedure?
Separately, It's one thing to go to someone's private hotel room, and another to visit a busy place of incall business -- are my fears unfounded?

Most agencies and independents screen their first time clients to assure themselves to the greatest extent possible that you are not LE. They will request you to provide information about yourself, such as info regarding your employment, or references from other providers or membership with verification services that can be verified. This process should be mostly unobtrusive to you, and handled by them mostly behind the scenes. If the lady is going verify through your employer, you may get a phone call from her to obtain the info she needs, but it may not be apparent to you until after the call has ended, if she has her game down.
As for doing an LE check when you get there, some ladies will request to see ID such as a drivers license. And if dealing with an agency or assistant, you will be dealing with them right up until you get to the door. Just follow the instructions they give you, and you should be fine. If anything along the way to meeting the lady makes you suspicious that this is an LE trap, go with your gut, and don't go through with it. As a newbie, you will likely need to do research beforehand in order to see the signs clearly, so make sure you have your bases covered in this regard before your first foray.

I'm used to the requests on the phone for info -- the message I saw on the boards was referring to someone going to a brothel in NY and going through an LE check at the door every time they showed up, even though they were a repeat customer. Can't get hold of that message writer, and wondering if others have had experience with an in-person LE check as you walk in the door.

An LE check at a lady's incall place usually refers to her unzipping your pants and touching your C*ck with her hands or lips before cash is paid just to see how you'll react since LE can arrest only if an "actual" sex for money has transpired.
Law Enforcement is allowed to do many things to make an arrest. They can lie through their teeth in interrogation. Undercover agents can take drugs, buy/sell drugs, all to find the larger fish and not the street vendors. And they can allow "sexual touching" before the pay for play comes out which they then make the arrest. If LE actually goes through with the entire sexual intercourse and then tries to make an arrest, that is something they can't do.
