I'm sure there are cops on every board on the planet.  The difference is that LE tends to pick the easy to get, low hanging fruit.  These are usually the people that post on local CL boards who don't screen.

Your best bet is to get VIP access, (only $20 and it will save you hundreds in frustration, ripoffs, and bad experiences), read the reviews thoroughly, and at first visit only WELL reviewed ladies (20+ reviews), and ensure that they screen.  It makes me a little nervous when the provider doesn't screen or ask for references.

The best thing is to trust your gut but do not allow yourself to become too paranoid.  Your safest bet is to get a hotel room, ask the provider for an outcall there and give her the information in a 2 call system.  1.) When she's close to the area you say you are ask her to call you so you can give the hotel name and then 2.) Have her call when she gets there and give the room number.  Police usually only setup stings at places they can setup and control hours before hand.  That is why you usually here about stings happening where the provider has an incall at a hotel and the client comes to her.  I hope this helps, and happy hobbying!

What you don't want to do is become the low hanging fruit, or the easy target.

The provider who has only two reviews, both by first time reviewers should be bypassed. Watch for additional reviews by credible reviewers. Sometimes they come, sometimes not. Don't take the risk.
Surely You can find a well reviewed provider in your area.

If it is a public access board, there is no way to keep LE from reading it.  Could LE set up a sting here, sure.  It seems a bit complicated for LE, but that impression is just a guess with no concrete data.  I want more certainty than that.  
I really have misgivings about "college students" or others of that age.  They have to be new to the business, if of legal age.  They are often a hoty but services are widely variable.    

Congradulations on doing your homework.  You have learned an invalueable lesson.  You do not have to write this one "off" forever.  I add these to my TER Favorites list with a note to check for more reviews in the future.  A provider needs several... 6-10 reviews by experienced reviewers for me to consider them "well reviewed".  You'll need VIP to read the full reviews.

Good call.  There is a reason why the advice offered to newbies is to only see well-reviewed providers who have reviews from establishe reviewers.

Move on.  Maybe come back to her in a few months after she gets some more reviews.

Thank you everyone for the great replies.  Two more questions though...

1-Somone said to use P411.  What is better about that board then here?  Couldnt LE get on there just as easy as here?

2-So I've seen the standard undercover hooker setups on the show COPS and where they really just try to get the guy to say he wants sex for money.  But in a situation like this, can the cops really bust you for just trying to hire an escort?

What makes you think there are NOT cops here?  This is not a secret society, it's a public website.

That being said, it's more likely the Eros ad you saw is either a bait and switch.  I would stay away.

Make contact via email and wait for her to reply. Use of email shows that the provider prefers the slow route for setting dates. Slow is not what cops running a sting or ripoff artists go for. In your first email, introduce yourself and say that you saw her ad and are considering setting up an appointment with her. Write nothing else until she replies. Wait for her to reply. Her reply should be general information about her availability and some reference to her screening requirements. I am a veteran hobbyist with one active review on TER. The number of reviews that I have written during my hobbying career is around 14. I am approaching 500 individual or repeat encounters with providers over my hobby experience. My dates cover the range from providers that do little screening to extensive screeners, elegant top tier providers to college age providers. I have been burned and I have had spectacular encounters. One constant that I have witnessed during my two decades plus of hobbying is that the more patient a provider is, the greater the probability that she is the real deal. My most memorable encounters were with two ladies that I came within a second of passing on, one I did pass on twice before trying her. Don't let an encounter that you may cherish until your dying day pass you by easily, take the email challenge, roll with it. Use common sense, be careful.
