a fire in the room how are they even going to know.  I've been in lots hotel rooms where candles were used.  It's never even crossed my mind that hotels would have a rule against that.

I know we all like really, really hot girls, but, whatever you do, don't let the girl catch on fire - at least not that way!!

I give her the candle & she lights it while I wash up.   We put it safely on the dresser, away from the action.  At home, I use a fireproof plate under jar candles because the bottoms do get hot when burned down...  I don't want to meet the "cellar savers" in front of MY house.  Of course, I'm gofting a new candle & we never burn it down during a session.  I've heard of non-smoking rooms...  never non-candle rooms!
I must admit, once I met a stunning lady for a romp in her GFE fantasy suite...  she a fimsy drapes all over & several candles...  way too close for my taste.

I always bring tupperware and duct tape to cover-up the smoke detectors (lol)  By the way, I'm just kidding!

A few gals have swtiched to the electric ones, or they use Christmas lights draped over the headboard, which is quite festive.

I use the small tea cups and dispose of them in a trash can on my way downstairs to breakfast the next morning along with the condom wrappers.  Maid doesn't need to find the used candles in my trash can.  When traveling on business, once I find a hotel I like, I usually go back to it again.

and housekeeping has DEFINITELY seen them in my room too.  I've never had any issues.

I will agree, though, that you have to be careful where you throw your clothes.  

And the better (more expensive) candles smoke MUCH less.... which I guess makes sense.

Just wanted to say thanks all for the advice, I'll try to find some small profile very stable good no-smoking candles.  

mrfisher, I appreciate the thought about Christmas lights but they just don't have the same aromatic quality of candles...

wax is contained.  The smaller sizes travel easily...  just pack a bbq lighter to reach in with.  (Discount store .99)
Tapers need a heavy, sold base with a drip lip & are not fool proof.  A soft drippy candle can make a mess.   I use candles camping & you can't tell by looking, how had the wax is.

Please be careful with candles...  in my area 75% of house fires are traced to candles.   I pick up saucers at flea markets to put under candles, as a non-combustible barrier to the dresser.  Paranoid?  Maybe.  But the FD has not had to put my house out either.  It's especially important, no matter whether you are boinkin the Mrs or another Lover...  you don't want to be leaving the room naked as the day you were born!
