When I started I didn't have any reviews.  I appreciate those who appreciated my understated ads and need for screening.
If she is a newbie there may not be reviews.  Pay attention to her diligence in regards to screening and listen to the guys!

I am interested in a provider but she has no reviews posted.  Her policy may be that she does not allow reviews.  While her web-site is tastefully done I am somewhat hesitant to book a meeting without knowing more.  Any help would be gratly appreciated.

1.  TOFTT (before you ask: take one for the team)
2.  Pass on her ... there are plenty of well reviewed providers.

Actually a 3rd option is to post asking about her on the regional board for where she is.  I can not attest to the other regional boards but the Minnesota guys are very good about answering those type of questions.

IMHO, you should take option #2 (pass) if #3 (post on regional board) doesn't shed some light on the subject.  Even as a 5-yr. veteran, I rarely TOFTT.

but I seriously don't trust an active provider who doesn't want reviews.

A good review record is money in their bank, and more money comes with every new flattering review. I'm not saying there are not solid, legitimate reasons why some providers don't want them, nor am I saying that there are not fabulous providers operating without them. What I AM saying is research thoroughly via PMs and other backchanneling means before you possibly drop some serious bucks on a slick website campaign that pushes and appeals to "exclusivity" but delivers overpriced mediocrity through skillfully engineered unaccountability.

Perhaps it has nothing to do with the provider. Maybe it's the clients she meets that are unaware of the site, or just don't think to post a review.  Most guys do not use the site to "jot down their thoughts" they use the providers for what it is... a service.

I want to thank everyone for their input.  I'll let everyone knows how it turns out - if I don't opt out.  Since I have some time before the meeting I'm going to go right to the source and as the same question.  I don't think this is too forward as I answered all of the screening questions.  If the provider gets angry or hesitates, I'll have my answer.

As a new but hard-working provider who doesn't yet HAVE any TER reviews, HOW am I supposed to get them if nobody will give me a shot because I don't have any?  It is a vicious circle for us ladies just starting out.  I think (hope) that a tasteful website, seeing how well she screens, and just talking with the lady herself will tell you quite a bit about her.  I would WELCOME reviews.  Why would I not allow them if I am offering the client a quality experience?  Just like anything else - give the consumer a good product or service and you have little to be afraid of.

Posting here and on your local board will help guys get to know you.  Especially on your local board.  When guys see how you post, look at your website, maybe PM you, they will get to know your personna as a provider.

No guarantees, but it can't hurt to try.  Good luck.

Until and unless you have a lot of established favs, or live in a hotbed for good providers, this debate is always present.  Many will ALWAYS PASS and that is the safe route.

One thing I'll do is search other sites for reviews as well - even if not a member or VIP.  Some of the best providers I've seen locally do not want reviews on big boards like this or BD but will allow them on smaller regional boards.

Some of my "TOFTT" trials have worked and I've seen great providers who don't want to be reviewed.  Others are low volume and don't want any LE exposure via profiles or reviews.  So what sucks is some of the best are unreviewed.  Thus I am tempted at times - hoping they are in the unreviewed "gems" category.  Luckily I'm batting maybe .700 with such tries which isn't bad.  If u never "stretch" you may be able to avoid rip-offs but may not get many mind-blowers either.  My last stretch was awful, the 5 before that had all been well above average.  It is a huge crapshoot though and I don't blame those who won't play russian roulette.  One other factor is that there are few good providers in my area that work weekends at all and that is when I prefer my appts.  So it forces me to take more risks than others might.

My T5 ATF's all prefer no reviews - and I'd not disrespect them by going against those wishes.  The only ones I'd review no matter what are the rip-offs and bad providers to warn others.  I ask the good ones if they mind me reviewing, I don't ask if they are bad!

One gal had her profile removed here 6 months ago, had a problem with a spouse causing her issues, and asks specifically that you not  review her though she is very good ( in my T10 ).  But 4 reviews have since been posted of her with all 8's-10's which is fairly accurate IMO.  But she is not too pleased with those guys and she cut at least two of them off because they ignored her request.  So it can be dicey!
