Verification conundrumsad_smile

I have been looking at getting into the hobby but have run into a bit of a roadblock.  I have noticed that many providers prefer to use some form of employment check in their verification process, but there lies the problem... I am not employed.  I'm a full-time college student in my late 20's and am fortunate enough to not need to work while I achieve my degree.  I have looked into some of the more popular verification websites but continue to run into the same problem.  Therefore I appear to be in a unique situation where I am not opposed to giving out info in order to verify who I am, I just don't seem to have the preferred info.  Anyone in a similar situation have a solution?  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I am in the same boat.

I called several providers - none picked up (!!!)

One picked up, she was VERY friendly, but then she started doubting me and hung up. I need to join one of the sites..just like you do.

but more to your question: I chatted online with P411 representatives and they said they have loads of students in their membership. They ask for things like school id, Driving license, etc. I also told them i'll provide proof of payment through my credit card, and I even suggested they call my school saying.."oh btw.. this dude has lost his ID... is he still with you or shall i throw it away?"

they sounded like all that should be sufficient. I'll sign up either today or tomorrow.

good luck! let your fellow newbie's know how it went!

...In the forum of your school related email address.

I provide in an area that is the site of hundreds of academic institutions.  Typically if someone proves ownership of their identity through their school related account and allow me to research them/their affiliations it is OK.

You can't fake ownership of an .edu account that has a history.
