i am retired and do not have work contacts.  Date-Check won't verify me. Verification Guide is hesitating.  i have made contact with a provider who is trying to help.  what else can be done?

I agree it's a problem.  I'm in the same situation.  I've got two reviews, a website which shows pictures of me and my work, and yet it's not enough for some providers, because a) I work for myself and b) don't have any references.  So, what I've done is search for providers who don't do heavy screening and see them.  There are quite a few.  Or, I go to an AMP, where the only screening is whether you've got the 50 dollar entrance fee.

Any way, being retired actually doesn't preclude other screening techniques from happening.

Just find a provider that has extensive screening and you can establish a level of comfort with. Without anything that can be verified (*in regards to work etc) you might have to engage your charming personality and exercise a bit more patience than normal....
