Should whitelists be updated similar to the P411 OKs?
If the answer to that is YES how is this done?

I have been with providers that would "white list" me but have never done it and don't seem to know how to do it.  How do I teach them how to do it?  Is it a good idea to have a white list?

meaning she has a TER handle and reviews, can whitelist you. The link below is to the self-help center infor for providers.

While whitelisting is great, I would also suggest you not use it in lieu of having a P411 or Date-Check account to both verify you and maintain your references.

...I do ask ladies I've continued to see to update my white list.

It's done by first deleting the existing white list and then submitting another one.

The provider does the same as she did when she white listed you. There will be a delete button there. She can click delete then click submit. The white list will show with the new date.

TER should add that to their FAQs.
Maybe it is there but I did not see it.

...Related to whitelists.

Is there an easy way for me to see how many white list referrals a provider has given, or at least see whether any at all?

I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth asking for one. I figure if she has like 100 reviews and no whitelists, she doesn't want to/doesn't know how and I won't ask. On the other hand, I've seen providers say that if another provider whitelists everybody who reviewed her, the don't put any stock in those referrals so I wouldn't worry about it either.

I don't care who she whitelisted, just whether she participates. The only thing I've found is to click on the names of her reviewers one at a time, scroll past all their reviews, then look for her in his list of referrals. Annoying and not necessarily reliable. One provider had around 60 reviews, I checked at least a dozen and found two she had referred. If I'd given up sooner I would've thought she doesn't participate.

Thanks!

...but, unfortunately, one of your statements brought up another thing I have wondered about and I'll go ahead and ask the board now, even though I feel stupid for asking this.

I've seen that written like that several times, here and elsewhere: "get whitelists, get OK's and get provider references ."  Like the references are a separate thing. But how does that work? Do you get a note from her? (Sarcasm) The obvious thing is that a provider you want to see contacts the providers you have seen, but that just seems sort of unlikely to me. Does a lot of that go on behind the scenes; providers calling each other: "hey do you remember this guy? Is he a creep?" ?

I would wonder if some providers would be a little jealous and catty.

Anyways, thanks

...You contact provider A for an appointment. She wants 2 or 3 references from other providers you've seen. You give her the phone # and e-mail address of those 2 or 3 ladies. She contacts them to verify they have seen you, you aren't LE and whatever else she may ask to be comfortable seeing you. It happens all day every day. Some providers want references and P411 OK's or TER white list. Some may even want personal info such as employment etc.

There are occasionally threads about jealousy but it's usually not an issue.

Unfortunately there isn't an easy way to see how many white list referrals a provider has given. The method you used is about the only method. I assume TER didn't facilitate an easy way to do this because they conceived the white list as a benefit to the client and not research material regarding a provider.

Whether it's worth it to request a white list referral is another question. My answer is yes it's worth it.
Consider it one more thing to use in helping a provider screen you. If you are a P411 member the OK's help. If you have written reviews that will help in being screened. If you have several reputable ladies that will provide references for you that will help. It all goes on your "resume" helping a provider feel comfortable seeing you.

If you have white lists but the provider doesn't accept them use what you have she will accept. Providers have posted on both sides of the white list question. Some won't consider them at all. Some will consider them along with other information. Some will accept white lists without any other information being required. (I've read many posts to this effect over the years here.)

A white list from an established provider will carry more weight than one from a newbie provider. Some providers will accept white lists from providers they know or have communicated with regarding references but not from others. (The same can be said about any of the items used for verification ie. P411 OK's, references from other providers, and personal information.)

Ask the well reviewed, established providers you have seen to white list you. If they don't know how tell them how. (I'll search and post how later.)  Agency providers, to the best of my knowledge, can't white list. I've not read that on the site but some have told me it was true. That's another thing not written anywhere.

Personally I have several white list. They have been considerably useful in my being screened by providers I've contacted. I have some old ones and some up to date ones. It helps to have a few up to date. (Reference my post above.)

Note a provider must have the Free Limited Provider VIP membership in order to white list clients. It's possible for a provider to have reviews but not have the Free Limited Provider VIP. It has to be requested by the provider. She must have at least one review to qualify. If she has the paid VIP but not the Free Limited Provider VIP she can't white list clients.  It is possible for a provider to have both. Many providers pay for VIP because it gives them access to the full reviews of the potential client she is screening.

To whitelist a user, click on the "Reviews" link near the top of the screen, and then click "Search White List" on the left side of the screen. Type in the hobbyists TER username (or his email address if you don't know his username, which may or may not match up depending on what email he uses on his profile). Once you find the hobbyist you are looking for, click on the "Submit Referral" button. Only provider accounts can see this button.

Also note only providers (with the provider VIP) can search by e-mail as described in these instructions and it only works if the e-mail she has for him is the same e-mail he has in his TER account manager.

I couldn't just do it. I tried to white list clients and there was no way for me to do it. White listing was not an option that popped up for me until I asked TER to allow me to white list and they did something to my account and then I was able to do it.
