As I've said in a previous post I've just started to market my services online this month.
I've done a lot of research into screening potential clients and I feel like I've covered all the bases in my contact form on my website so I know I'm getting all the right information to do a thorough job. I was wondering if independent providers on here screen their own clients or go through a third party service for convenience.
I'd love to hear your input on the subject and reasoning.
Yes you have covered a lot of bases on your contact form.
My advice would be to be *flexible*.
Many guys with experience are not going to give you their personal contact info.
However they can give you a TER or other review site ID that leads in many cases to a fairly deep resume if you will.
My specific advice would be to add a form for review site user ID, to set your form so that it will be trasmitted without *everything* being filled in, and to allow contact by email instead.
Many of us do not like forms either.... we'd rather send you an email, tell you a little about ourself -give you a bit of a feel for us - and make and provide you with our hobby "resume" in a format that is more natural to us.
Last thought - these days do NOT put too much stock in direct provider references.....
I find it interesting that very few of the ladies I know place a priority on direct provider references. Three ladies I know with a combined 30 years experience in the biz do not use and do not give direct references.....
Let's think about it a moment -
If a provider has seen a guy once or twice a month or two or six ago what does it mean if she says he's a good guy? YMMV and things change...
If a provider has a regular and says he's a good guy what does it mean? She may be willing to put up with more than you are and not want to risk losing his biz over not giving a good reference
Many providers today are going out of their way NOT to give references because things have gotten very competitive economically....
Is it not better to be able to go to date check or preferred 411 and see ten or a dozen or twenty or thirty refences for a guy including private provider's eyes only comments? Does this not give you a better picture than one or two direct references? Is it not easier and quicker?
combine one or two verification services with a track record on a review site and that seems to be to be worth a hell of a lot more than a word from one or two ladies....
Just my opinion. Oh - and that of a great majority of the providers I've seen over the last few years....
TER handles are great, if the gentleman has one--but don't forget to connect the handle with the person emailing you. Anyone could send you an email claiming to be someone on a review site. Have them PM you as well to confirm they are the same person. Alternatively, you can get a provider reference to confirm their email address at the same time.
I have my own question, as I'm also fairly new at this--if someone is accomplished enough that they are all over the internet with photos of them and and interviews they've given and they write from a legit work email...is any other screening necessary?

The person being relatively well known does not make them safe to be in an intimate setting with. Some people have freaky darksides. Put the person through your screening process. If they pass and your session is a success, you likely would have found a reliable repeat client.
