I have never done this before. I have thought about it many times and have done research and contacted providers but it never worked out. I am just almost divorced and I want to take advantage of my freedom to branch out, experiment a bit and have some fun.

I am in the NYC area (Edited by Mod - The Newbie Board is not for specific recommendations from any area).

My question is I am looking at ads and I see these pictures and I have no way of knowing if they are real or not. I have dozens of ads bookmarked and its way too much info to try to compute in my head. What if I make an appointment with someone and then I see them and I don't like them? Is there some sort of protocol for "sorry, you turn out to not be my type?" Can I back out at the last minute, do I give her some money for her time?

Ideally this would be avoided by a good recommendation from someone, but I'm curious as to how that sort of thing is handled.

maybe you should start with massage providers.  This is what I did and it has worked out well for me.  I saw a lady to day who doesn't show her face on her website.  Based on reviews I went ahead and booked.  She is lovely and we had a great time.  READ the reviews that is how you whittle down your choice.  Develop your dream girl and then seek out the girl that posesses the attributes you like.
Its not rocket science, its just fun.  Get your feet wet and take the plunge, you won't be sorry......

You are posting on a site that has reviews on providers.  Many of these providers work in NYC.  Are you getting the hint here????

Get TER VIP, then you can search all the reviews.

For the most part ladies with 5 or more very good reviews are for real, as they say.
And their sites and ads will be what you get, But however there is always the YMMV factor.

So get The VIP and find a gal who has the menu, looks etc. that you are looking for and go for it, you will most likely be well satisfied.

We have many local providers in NY that are well reviewed, and get more then our fair share of traveling ladies that are also well reviewed.
Use the review search function to narrow down providers that fit your taste. Make sure they are well reviewed by hobbyists with multiple reviews.
If you choose carefully, you will not be in a position to have to walk away, because she is not your type.
Being a newbie can be difficult and without having provider references you should expect to be screened rather heavily by most providers.
