So I’m thinking about buying membership, but how do you guys pay for it so you don’t end up leaving a money trail? Should I buy a gift card in cash and use that? Or is the credit card system for TER pretty secure?

It's been close to 5 years now since I last paided for VIP but I used my CC and had not proble. TER was using a payment processor that seemed to provide some degree of separation from TER -- you don't see The Erotic Review on your card statement lol. Not sure what merchant category code was used for the payment but at least one time I renewed was when all the major processors (MC, V, Discover, AMEX) were cracking down on anything related to adult entertainment activities. No issues with the payment or with the issuer telling me they didn't want my business any longer.
I don't think TER can even see the payment information, just a hand off to the processor as if it's a blackbox and then gets a paid response back and know they will get paid.
I buy a Home Depot gift card with cash and use that. I have noticed that each brand offers a slightly different amount of days though - I used to have a list of what was better but lost it. Home Depot seems the most solid though - $75 for 70 days of access. Some take a higher fee (i.e. $40 for only 30 days) so keep that in mind when purchasing.
Also I think there's a minimum - meaning you can't get a $10 gift card just like 5 days.
