Two big problems I can see,

The first is the obvious language barrier, very few "mamasans" are going to be able to have much of a conversation with your typical american provider.

The second is the fact that all providers know that all AMPs do no screening whatsoever, so it sort of defeats the purpose for a provider to contact an AMP who at the most can tell her the guy she knows as Joe hasn't killed or arrested anyone YET. lol

See my point? They can't even vouch for your real identity, much less your credibility.

If an AMP knows you by face, name, and by reputation (good reputation), could they serve as a reference?

Clearly, if you've never told them where you work, they won't be able to verify that, but they should at least be able to verify that you are not LE...

will leave that up to the ladies.  What say you girls?

How am I to know what if any services you receive. You might be a perfect gentlemen with an ulterior  motive to set me up. I have been put in that spot already with someone from the Tampa area who asked that question and I had to pass. He was staying at a very nice hotel in an area known for stings.

Damn... thanks anyways.

Can't we just legalize this shit already?

are not escorts...defeats the point.
Also, way to many bust at amps for me.
No agency references either.!

Check with the provider and the AMP and see if the later is willing to give, and the former receive, a reference.

In fact, the first gal I met on the internet took as a reference the scheduler for the MP I frequented for years (and still do).  That's back when the only providers I knew were not on the net, so the provider had no way of checking them out.  At least the MP has a phone number and a business listing, so she felt OK with it.

The worst thing they can do is say no.

I'm sure it varies from city to city, place to place, but it has been known that some members of New York's Finest (NYPD) used the services of New York's Finest (AMPs), even in uniform! That can have a chilling effect on attracting paying customers. I read an article in the NY Times around 6 years ago that one AMP had so many cops traipsing in and out that they had to open up a second place across the street - no cops allowed!

There are still a few places located right next to Manhattan precinct houses. That makes it impossible to double park without getting a ticket while you run in for a quickie.

And someone pointed out the language problem. Very true, compounded by the culture clash. Most mamasans I know of wouldn't know what I was talking about (reference) -- they can barely give me the correct street address -- or would pretend not to know what I was talking about or would just completely screw it up.
