The provider wants to know you're employed by the company. Period. You could give her your main switchboard number and she can asked to be transferred to your extension. that with other screening information should be enough to verify you.
Employment verification at the company I work for is done through a contracted company (which does employment verification for 2/3 of the Fortune 500 companies)either via their web site or phone number. I'm assuming this would be a problem because they charge a nominal fee (I think its about 10 bucks) and the site is not set up in a way that the employee being verified can pay for his own verification. Although I would obviously gladly reimburse this expense to the prospective provider, is this more trouble than she would be willing to go through? I know that verification would be insisted upon, as I have never been with a provider and thus have no references. Help!
