You are correct about trying to see your first escort without references. However it can be done. Read back on this board. You will see one of the most common questions is how to "break in" or get verified. Lots of good suggestions on this board. The most common being to join P411 and look for newbie friendly ladies. Other options include being willing to give up personal info such as real name and employment info. You have to decide if you are comfortable with that, and only do it if it is a reviewed and reputable lady.

Looks to me like it if FLtoWA, since that what your post indicated.  Since you are new, you should have no history to worry about.  Your reputation will build from what you post, esp on your local board.
