Hi everyone - total newbie with a question here. I've tried to contact a couple of well-reviewed providers via their online appointment forms, but I am a freelancer and I often work from home, or for a week or two in any given location, so I don't have a consistent work phone # for verification. I've mentioned this when submitting my request to keep surprises to a minimum, but I get the sense that this is maybe scaring providers off, or at least giving them pause -- more than once my messages have gone completely unreturned.

I've been reading up on the usual verification sites like RS2K and Date Check but they all seem to require employment info. Can I get verified by one of these sites as a freelancer? What info would I need to provide?  

Also, is it ok to follow up with a provider via direct email if I haven't heard back from her within a few days? Don't want to come across as a creep but would like the opportunity to work something out with the provider so she feels safe.

...Check them out. They have an 800 number so you can talk to someone and work out a way to get verified. They have a reputation for working with guys in your situation.

is still several days away. For example, don't send an email on Monday for a date on Wednesday and then another email on Tuesday if you haven't heard back yet. Providers are real people with real lives. Sometimes it takes a few days for them to respond to emails. Yes, there are a few who are poor with the business part of this biz.

Gotcha - yeah this is for a date that's actually a few weeks away, but I noticed one provider who didn't return my message was listed as "unavailable" on her calendar during the week I contacted her. So maybe I caught her during travel and she missed the message or something, but that was almost a week ago so I just want to follow up.

And thanks to xyz23 for the rec. P411 seems to be the most expensive of the verification sites by far but that might be what it takes so I'll check it out.
