Tips on touring

Touring can be quite challenging.  And you'll be spending a fair amount of $. You only have one TER review which might be a problem for TER clients. Even though it's an excellent review, many clients want to see more than one review before they'll see you. You might want to  wait until you have a few more reviews.   Do you have a friend who provides? You might want to tour with her, until you have a little more experience, she can show you the do's and don'ts of touring.  However, your instincts are right on by posting this question on the newbie board.  Good luck!

anyone have advice on what cities are good for touring? where to advertise? etc

ive been providing for a few months and want to explore other cities

Great review but I agree with "hills"...get some more reviews.  I've been around the country a bit and it seems like the cities you might expect are big travel cities...LA, Vegas, Chicago, and the Northeast.  Since you are a newbie I think you might get lost in the shuffle in LA, Vegas, Chicago, and NYC.  I'd suggest Central Jersey and the DC area.  Search providers in those areas, look where they advertise (in addition to TER of course), and build a presence.  Every city has the site(s) that are big locally but maybe not in other places around the country.  Learn the local ropes, keep your eyes open for hotel and airline specials...don't skimp on the quality of your hotel...and try to generate some local interest before traveling.  My last bit of advise, don't throw good money after bad...if a trip isn't working be prepared to bale on it and head back home early.  Don't blow off any clients but there's no point in sitting in a hotel, away from home, spending money on a hotel if you aren't covering expenses.

Good luck!

drive to a potential touring city or must you fly?  Cost of hotels will be higher in larger cities like LA, NYC, Chicago, etc.  However, there are deals to be had in LV generally through Thursday night of most weeks.  The suggestion of touring with another provider is a good one.

Ladies also consider warmer climates like Arizona and Florida in the winter because there are plenty of visiting guys with dispossable income.

Good luck to you.

I appreciate all the info & advice! I have quite a few more reviews on xxxxx so hopefully that wont be a problem.
