Tipping

Hi I'm a newbie and I know this sounds naive, but is it a good idea to give a tip before the session if the lady is a real winner (she has tons of good reviews on TER). You might get better service that way. But then, she might not try that hard if she's already got the tip. What do you think? Any advice would be appreciated.

If she's got lots of good reviews then it's because she providers a great service.  You should get that service for her advertised rate and a good provider will not give less of a service if you don't tip.

By all means tip her if you want, it's always appreciated to receive a tip.

I'm still relatively new to this, and I've only tipped twice.   I can't explain why I tipped those two particular ladies, but in both instances it was on the way out.

I would think that if you do it at the beginning of your session, then you might be trying to ask for something not on the menu, sort of a reverse upsell.  And what happens if you don't really like what you get, even though she has tons of great reviews?  She may have a bad day, or you may not click with her.  One provider I saw had pages of good reviews, and she really was good, but she just wasn't my cup of tea (more of a PSE than a GFE, but I should have known that from reading her reviews -- newbie mistake on my part).

And even when you go to a good restaraunt that's gotten great reviews, you don't tip before your meal.

Sometimes I tip cash but with my ATF and other regulars I prefer to bring a small personal gift. A gift would be presented at the start of a session but a tip should be held until the end. Honestly, no matter how good a ladies reviews are why would you tip her before a session? It's always YMMV in this hobby and no one can guarantee that you are going to have a good session until it actually unfolds. I agree with the notion that a gal with great reviews is already giving great service for her agreed upon fee. A tip at the start of the session isn't going to make any difference.

Tipping is generally done after
and normally for agency girls as the agency takes most of it

many providers I've been with have not touched the envelope until after I left. So putting a tip in advance would not affect the outcome of the session.

On the first visit with an indy, I generally don't tip.  But if she warrants a repeat visit I always bring a gift & also tip at the end....

I obviously don't know what all agencies do but the ones I deal with in Boston take a fee from the models that they represent in exchange for their services. It is no where near "most" of the model's rate. Without getting into specifics the model is keeping the majority of her hourly rate and the agency, by screening for and promoting the ladies they represent is certainly earning their fee.

Thanks everybody for your advice. Much appreciated. Now I have more of an idea about how and when to tip.

The best tip is a 2nd (3rd, 4th, etc.) appointment.  Repeat business is good for both the provider (no need to screen again) and the hobbyist (you know what kind of session you will be experiencing).

I'm going against the grain here and saying that I've picked up a few pointers from tokes in gambling circles that sometimes work.

If you tip dealers before or during "play" they tend to give much better service during said play and go out of their way ( the good ones ) to smooth over anything for you.  Tipping them as you leave only ( like waiters/waitresses ) only really benefits you the next visit or subsequent visits - if at all.

So since it is partially intended to ellicit better service, pre-tipping does work some of the time IMO.  It may help with a first appt as she'll see u as a generous client worth keeping for repeat business over others - all other things being equal.

Including in this hobby.  Certainly not ALWAYS, but it has worked for me on occasion, IMO.

No one has to tip, and many good providers have told me I'm the first to tip them in weeks - which may just be a "line" but may not.  So it varies greatly.
