Check t the link below, see Swim's and my response.  Scroll back on this board a number of pages and you'll see all sorts of questions by new providers. Also there's a search feature back on the main newb page, which can come in handy so you won't have to wait for responses to your questions. Good luck and as a previous stated, learn to screen all your clients, do not take short cuts when it comes to screening.

Hello all!

I am a student at the U and have been interested in this profession for about 4yrs. I've finally decided to take the plunge and just do it. I have an ad on eros and have received some responses but no actual meetings yet (just posted late last week though). I'm thinking about perhaps starting out slowly, and a friend who does sensual massage let me sit in on one of her sessions yesterday afternoon, (not DIY). I can have use of her incall for massage but haven't discussed companionship in that location as well.

I'm very protective of my identity and do not want to put myself in a stupid position, ie, LE or a bad situation. My question to you (both hobbyists and providers, your inputs would be most appreciated for a newbie) is, how can I effectively begin and market as well? Any and all responses are welcome.

Thank you all!

read the self help center, link at top of this page, under the life preserver.  This forum is the best place to ask questions.  I am the host, and feel free to ask me anything privately that you want, it will go no further.

There are lots of us here willing to help newb's like yoursrlf.  We understand your need for discretion, many, if not most, of us need that as well.  For now, I would suggest you pay for at least a month's VIP, so you can PM us and get more information.

Paying for at least one month of VIP will give you access to the PM system so you may ask questions which you don't want to ask on the public forum. Many things can be shared on the forum and already have. Besides reading the self help manual as swim has suggested, you can also use the search feature at the top of the page to search for specific topics that have already been discussed. You can also read back 10 or so pages on this forum, and you will see more topics have been covered repeatedly. Feel free to come back and ask more questions here or by PM once you get VIP.

One of your most important things to learn will be how to screen. Other providers may share info with you by PM, as some of that info is not good to put out on a public board.

Another benefit of the VIP membership is that you can read all the details of other ladies' reviews. That may be helpful to you in deciding what services you will provide and your rates. If you get a review here, then you will qualify for a limited provider VIP for free. It will still allow you to use PMs and it will allow you to read your own reviews but not others. I still would suggest you pay for VIP for now, rather than waiting to qualify for your free VIP.

For marketing, you can post a free ad on TER on your regional ad board once a week. You can link that to your eros ad until you get a website. Information on that will be found in the self help center.

If you get a website, you can start with a simple "do it yourself" template type site. There are several that are geared specifically for providers, and their are some generic ones like Wix, which many providers use. Most are free. If you decide you are going to continue doing this, and you start doing well, you can always build a custom website later.

Welcome, and Good luck!

and then getting exposure to it on the various escort mall sites like EROS and similar sites.

TER is also an excellent site to market yourself on.  Until you get a reveiw however, you can't have a profile page.  But you can post and link to your website every time you do post.  The catch is that you have to have an active link to TER on the first or second page of your site.  If you read the Self Help Manual that is linked on this page (Look for the red and white life preserver.), it will tell you how that is done.

I know what you are saying about not wanting to come under scruitny by LE, but I think it is very rare that LE ever goes after an escort just because she has a website.

That does not mean you shouldn't show some discretion in setting up your site however.  Do not dwell on or mention specific sexual activities (Though some gals do.) if you don't want to tempt fate.  Do invest in high quality photos done by a professional photographer.

Final thought:  Do not underestimate your safety.  Be sure to screen any and all clients, and if your gut ever tells you not to see someone, listen closely to it.  Never be persuaded by the siren call of someone saying:  "I'll pay you double if you'll see me right now without screening."  Odds are good it's LE making that statement.

Best wishes to you and don't hesitate to participate on here.

Even a template site to start with.  You don't have to use all of it like the list of activities.

You need good pictures which is easier than ever with quality digital cameras.  No thumbs!  or Picts must open to a good size.  Need not be explicit but for me to consider MUST have a variety of poses & angles, dress & props, so that taken together I know what you look like naked.  Blurred or cropped face is ok.  There is no bigger turn off than seeing a dozen butt pictures...  etc.

Rotate the picts in your ads too.

Suggest copy protecting and/or watermarking your photos.

No music on your web site.  Guys should not view adult content when others are around but some are not thinking.  If they hear music when they click on your site, they'll click off just as fast.  Music is personal...  you should learn to enjoy music to your companion's taste during a session.  Lie if you must!
NO TV unless you have porn & not all will like it.  Music drowns the sounds of activity.  Hint:  turn the speakers towards the door so outsiders can not hear but not as loud to the couple.

Do not provide from where you work for security reasons.  Do not use your personal email or phone.  Get a free email & a work phone like a tracfone.

2 call system.  After the date is setup, screening done...  the first call or message gives a call point.  It should be nearby but not your exact location or room number.  Sometimes ladies are able to observe the parking to be sure the client is alone & as expected.  He calls at the appointment time, you give him the final instructions/room number.

As you read back on the board & the self help section by the life saver...  think of how this can work.
Good luck,
skb

I should have searched through the forum more, but got all girly and excited and wanted to post. lol. Thank you guys for taking the time to help me, I truly appreciate it. All advise received will be seriously considered. Thanks.

Technology has produced an environment where a potential provider can live in an isolated small town, yet provide in large cities like New York, Chicago and LA. My advice to a newbie is that she join an agency that does not ask for too much of her hourly earnings. A provider won't make as much per client as she can potentially make, but newbie providers have poor luck getting customers to bite, agencies have established clients that frequently will try new providers based upon the agency's reputation.

If you stay independent, register with sites like P411, Roomservice 2000 or date check. Find your local TER board and start posting on that board. Good luck.
