You will have to book the room using your credit card but you can pay cash when you arrive and your card will not actually be charged.  Don't use a debit card for the reservation as the hotel will actually make a withdrawal from your account that may take up to a week to be credited.

Being a new hobbyist I’m wonder what the best way to setup an outcall locally without leaving a paper (electronic) trail?  I’ve been in contact with several well reviewed providers who for different reasons aren’t doing incalls (moving etc).  All (or at most) have indicated we could get a room somewhere. What’s the best way to get a hotel locally without leaving a big stamp on my plastic that says I was here?  

I provide incalls but always what to keep my options open.

If you go to a hotel that needs a card on file and you dont want someone in your personal life looking at your financial accounts and seeing something or what not...put money on a wal-mart money card, then set up an account to where they will send you a card with your name on it. There is usually a $3 monthly charge, so make sure you cancel the card if you dont want to keep it, or you will get charged and it can go against your credit, cause even though you have to sign up using your name and ss#,its worth it cause there is no way anyone can look into that account because its a prepay credit card,and i am pretty sure they dont send balance sheets, if you are worried about a spouse or someone and your mail, just have them deliver it somewhere else

That once you pay for a room on hotwire or Priceline (my favorite) you can not get a refund. If your date cancels you are out the money. I use priceline all the time to do out calls with my ATF but I don't book the room until the morning of the appointment after we have confirmed by text that we can both make the appointment.

Get a prepaid credit card and book a hotel through third party website( like hotwire etc). Once you do check in, you have to provide an actual credit card and ID. However if you are careful enough to not use any charged services, your CC will not be charged. I call them next day ( as I use auto check out) and make sure there are no charges.

Worked so far for me.

to have a plan B and plan C provider lined up just in case.  I don't mean book multiple appointments for the same day/time but just get pre-screened in case your schedule opens up.
