How do I find out how another provider & I were using the same device/IP???

I was told by admin that I am not allowed access to the providers board because another provider is using my device/IP!!

 
I don't even know when that happened, because it hasn't been lately.

What the heck can I do?

Wish I had an answer for you Amber.

You might try contacting admin and asking for details about the alleged incident.  Other than that, I don't think there is much more you can do.  Maybe one of my more learned colleagues can help you out.

Sounds like one of your friends...

Used YOUR phone/puter to access her TER account.  Hence you both accessed using the same IP addy.

I would contact Admin and ask if you are "clean" for a period of time (perhaps a 30 day window) can you then get admission.  

Don't allow anyone to use your devices to access TER...including a john who wants to show you "stuff" on TER.  Yeah...that happens a lot as well  LOL

Frankly you're lucky they haven't banned you for that already.

are you rooming with her or accessed using a public wifi?

Another possibility is your or her account may have been hacked but it's much more likely that you two were accessing TER using the same Internet service in same town...

Providers logging on to their individual accounts using shared devices is NOT a bannable offense!

I've helped a friend update her profile/contact info, whitelist a client, search a reviewer etc. She's not very plugged in and would not have known how to do these things on her own. This only becomes an issue with SECURE boards, like the Provider Only Board and the Reviewer Only Board. TER wants to make sure that ONLY PEOPLE THEY HAVE GRANTED PERMISSION TO, HAVE ACCESS. Therefore, more than one provider can't have access these boards from the same device, nor more than one reviewer, NOR a provider AND a hobbyist!

People get banned for the following:

1.) Showing private board content with people that have not been given access.
2.) Sharing private board content publically.
3.) Self reviewing. (Never allow a reviewer to login into his account from YOUR DEVICE for ANY reason.)

Well, they are not responding to my email about

IP information, Device MACs, location, and date/times of occurrence.

 
I do not understand, but I suppose if they miss other peoples adverts that don't have tour dates.......

Do you use a wireless router?

Shut it down & restart it.  You might have to restart your cable box too.  The ISP owns a whole hunk of band width...  resetting will likely give you a slightly different IP address in the same group.

Not true my dear

Using the same device to log on to other TER members accounts is a bannable offense.

Perhaps Admin will chime in on this topic to assist those who are unsure of the issues as described?

Are they really blocking your access based on an IP address? Another provider can get the same IP address as you buy using the same router that you have used. This could happen if you both connected to the same router from a hotel or coffee shop. It might even be possible if you use a mobile hotspot through your phone with the same wireless provider. To identify the specific device, they would need to get the MAC address from your device. If they just see that someone is using the same IP address, then I think that their method is not 100% effective, and they'll be blocking people that haven't broken any of their rules.
