In general, being arrested for solicitation of prostitution is a misdeamor in most place (But not Chicago as of a few months ago!) and as such you will have to pay a few hundred dollars in fines and court costs.  The bigger penalty is often getting your name in the newspapers and having to deal with the fallout from that with your family, friends and work.

To that end, you should educate yourself on how to conduct your hobbying in ways that will not end up with you getting busted.

Reading the Self Help Manual that is linked on this page is an excellent way to start.

You can discuss the matters with a local attorney, which is something I had done on a couple of occasions.
Accepting legal advice from wannabe lawyers and know-it-alls is ill advised.

Google will also lead you to some legitimate local websites, (County/State, etc) to help enlighten you on local laws.

Im just starting out with this hobby and I know theres going to be risks.  Just looking for some best practices and curious on whats the charge/fine/etc if you get busted.
