the envelope

I understand the reason for the background checks, but what is the deal with the envelope? I have no problems with it. Consider this more a question of curiosity than necessity for me to know the answer.

With the envelope there is never any discussion of money or hand to hand exchange of money. I have always been amazed how simple and trouble free the envelope makes the buisness portion of the encounter. I usually use some type of greeting card, and most of the ladies seem to appreciate the gesture.

I always get a nice card, usually with a nice picture and blank inside. One time, I forgot to pick one up before I left on my trip. Then, in my haste to get one closeby the hotel, I didn't notice that on the front, it said "Sorry for your loss". Needless to say, she only got the envelope.

Few of my dates require an actual evvolupe...  I always have the donation ready in a front pocket with my keys...  folded & with a paper clip for minimal bulk.  I place it discretely & never directly look at it again...  at some point it  vanishes without a word.  I like it because it helps with the illusion.  Sometimes I bring a gift like candy or candle & will place the donation with it.

Like rentagirl said, it makes the exchange of $$$ more discrete.  I just leave it where she can see it.  I have yet to have a lady pick it up in my presence and count it, although I know it has happened to many others.  I guess I have picked the right ladies.

The card idea is a nice touch, will have to remember that.  I think the envelope is just a little more classy than dropping a wad of bills on the table.

My thoughts.
