So, I'm a 32 y.o. who, after working for many years, dropped everything and went to medical school. While I did work through undergrad, I do not have a job now that I am in medical school.
I have been thinking about joining the hobby for a couple of years now, and just in the last month or two have been actively trying to get an appointment. However, things aren't going so well.
I do have an income, and I'm at the top medical school in the world. That's not meant as any kind of boast, just that I couldn't be more legitimate. The vetting process for getting into my school is literally months long, and confirming my enrollment is as simple as a 30-second phone call.
The problem is, every time I fill out a form or get on the phone and try to explain to a provider, an agency, or a P411 type place, I get no responses to forms/emails, and lots of "no thank you"s on the phone.
Any ideas or advice? Any Baltimore area regulars to this site wanna stand up for me?
Lots of guys do not have regular jobs, are self employed, or retired like me. If I spot a prospective date, I generally skip the form & directly e-mail if possible. I clearly state that I am retired... but offer what ever alternative information she desires. I label the initial message "advance screening". Then I pick a date in about a week with an approximate time. THEN, I call. Yes, this requires a provider with both an e-mail & phone. I explain that I'd e-mailer her earlier, and suggest a meeting date & time. A lot of ladies get tons of e-mails from guys who will never show. I make it clear that I am for real & I'll be there. This has worked for me. skb
