. . . and if you've done it, what's it like?

Each practitioner is different.

There will nearly always be a focus on connection, with yourself and between one another.  Breath work, energy work.  From there you may or may not have a bath ceremony, anointment with oils, massage, toning or chanting, maybe some education and explanation, maybe not...

Sexual services really have nothing to do with what a true tantrika is offering, their specialty is in the sexual energy and quality of being.  There are many different ways to transmit the experience to another.  As to what "services" to expect you'll have to read the reviews.

I'm a provider and I have seen tantric practitioners.  It has been different with each and every practitioner that I have visited.

To metaphorically compare it to a dining experience, consider two simiar meals at two restaurants of similar quality:

In the first you sit down, order your meal, eat it and leave.

In the tantric version, the chef invites you in to see how the food is prepared, and discusses how each ingredient is chosen and prepared to maximize the enjoyment of the dining experience.  Perhaps the chef even invites you to assist in the prepartion so that you get some hands on experience and further your knowledge.

The first meal is enjoyable, but the experience pretty much ends when you get up to leave.

The second meal gives you wonderful memories and experiences to savor over and over. Further, it helps you to enjoy all sexual experience whether your partner be a tantra goddess or not.   It requires more input and effort on your part, but like any good thing in life, what you put into it makes it more valuable.

This is why I consider tantra to be the Rolls Royce of the hobby experience.

It's a hard concept for many hobbyists to grasp - that you don't just go in and order what you think you want for your dining pleasure.  Instead, based on the connection and the flow of the energy and intention, you are prepared a possibly unexpected meal with fresh organic ingredients.  The chef's special, prepared on the fly.  It just doesn't fit on a menu...

Well, I'm somewhat familiar with eastern religion, and the whole concept sounds really interesting. I am intrigued. Possibly a direction to go at some future time . . . why be bound by a menu anyway . . .?  I'll keep an eye out for a practitioner, excuse me, a tantrika, in my area.  Thanks much, I'm always grateful for any new knowledge.

Jeff
