Phone Number lead to Facebook?!?

Long story short. I was googling a phone number because there's a provider on here I've wanted to see for a long time, but I was unsure of because the reviews were never in depth nor were they recent.

Her phone number shows a consistent history although she posts on like 8 different boards. (A red flag for me)

When I googled her number, a hit came up from PhoneLookup.com giving me her real name (which is actually her professional name too?) and being curious, I facebooked it. I found her facebook account and its her.

I'm thinking this should be a warning for all providers. This PhoneLookup.com can be problematic for providers looking to keep their private lives secret. Or it can be a blessing for the hobbyists who want to make sure they know who they're calling.

Needless to say, I did not FB friend her and I'm more skeptical now of her than ever (even considering that she says in her ads its her cell phone, but that website says its a landline. I even checked my number and it was correct in informing me that my number was a cell phone and was under my name.

Thoughts?

get a new # and make sure that it's unpublished, and saying that she shouldn't use the same name in FB, if it is her real name.

I wouldn't want to meet someone doing that.

Way too sloppy. Who knows what mistakes her is making?

Well, I've been friend-requested on FB by women I don't know.  There is no guarentee a FB is their real civie ID.  I know cops & others who use a nickname for FB for securty reasons.  Hobby phones & work phones (& e-mail) should not be linked to civie ID.  It's sloppy security.

I did find my ATF on FB...  but only because I know her real name, as she knows mine.  We joked about FB but I did not "friend" her.

If her posting on the 8 different boards is hobby related and those boards are hobby related that alone should not send up a red flag for you or anyone else. The lady is simply marketing herself on places where hobbyist search for providers. Providers who rely solely on TER for marketing could be committing career suicide....TER is wonderful, but it is not the end all of end alls for marketing.

As for PhoneLookup.com........it is not accurate AT ALL. It is telling me that my home phone number is Ceasers Palace.

Facebook, Twitter, and most of the other social networking sites are not meant to be used as forums for the hobby...IMHO those sites draw attention to a provider from an audience that is not meant to be part of the hobby community ie teens.

Well said Allure. I personally advertise on more than 10 other sites... it's just good marketing. And you're right, someone else the other day had made a post about those reverse phone sites and them not being accurate at all... like if they can't find a match, they just make it up.

So are you saying I should just disregard the info I found from that site? All of her ads were on hobby sites.

I didn't intend to do a reverse phone look up, it was just the first hit off Google.

Mostly because I never see those boards as the main hobbyists pages. She doesn't post on Backpage, but will post on random message boards that have like 2 visitors at any given time.

In my mind, and granted Im a newb at this, I would think that a provider would go with larger more well known sites to advertise. Just my thoughts though.

There are other reliable boards. But ther are also those little two-bit boards that no one really uses.

A lot of providers put ads everywhere. It's when I read a review on those shit boards that I just ignore it.

"she says in her ads its her cell phone, but that website says its a landline."

This really doesn't mean anything. It's called call forwarding. Many ladies use referring companies that forward calls to their cell phones. I do. The primary number is indeed a landline, but the call comes in on a cell phone.
