Newbie - FAQ

I'm so kicking myself, I thought I did my homework!angry_smile

So, I'm a newby.  I thought I did my homework.  I went through the reviews.  I searched before calling up a provider.  Couldn't find a review.  I fell for the picture and the profile and just went for it.

What are we supposed to do when the provider uses a different alias?  do we put both down?  I actually read the reviewed alias and thought to myself "wouldn't want to end up in that scenario."  But, the pic on the ad was different from the reviewed alias.  I wish I knew better.

I'm venting because, I took a newby hit.  Fool me once . . . not again.

Driven, You clearly state you "couldn't find a review", if you've been reading the newbie board for any length of time than you know, if a provider has NO reviews, than you move on. However, I'm a little confused because in the second paragraph you mention an alias with a review.  On the reviewed alias, did you check to see how many reviews the reviewer had?  Either way, in the future, stick with a provider with numerous reviews, and check to see the reviewers have written reviews. You can also google the phone # to see whats what.

We all do it. I've never fallen for this particular thing though.

I've noticed that, while searching through the BP and CL ads, you can search for the phone number you're thinking of calling. Very often I'll find that the number comes up for more than one provider, and the pictures have a rather professional quality to them. This makes me suspicious. Could be an agency; could be LE.

BP ads sometimes show "other ads by this user," which probably means they were sent from the same IP. This can be very revealing. In some cases you may find ads for two or more providers--different names, different pictures, different phone numbers. These are probably just a couple of indies using the same laptop. No red flags. But sometimes you find ads purportedly for two providers, but the pictures are the same, or the phone numbers are the same. I've never known independents to share the same phone, and the pictures with multiple names are definitely fishy. At best we're dealing with an agency, at worst, LE.

I'd love to post some links to give you some examples, but it probably wouldn't be allowed, and someone might think it was some kind of endorsement, but there are a couple of great examples in the Philadelphia BP classifieds today. Try looking through your local BP classifieds and see if you spot any of these patterns.

>BP ads sometimes show "other ads by this user," which probably means
>they were sent from the same IP.

I think it means they were posted by the same Backpage user account. It looks like you must use a user account to post an escort ad because they charge money ($5) for ads in that section.

I didn't know that, but it makes sense.

Redemption today boys!  Today was the experience it should have been.  San Diego is lucky to have today's lady in its midst.  Review to come soon.

For a Newbie, the lesson should be clear.  Don't let the little head make the decission.  If the girl doesn't have any reviews (minimum 4-5 from established reviewers), then PASS.  There are plenty of hot ladies out there.

OK, Newbie!  It wasn't that long ago I was too.  I have learned so much since joining TER.  Like so many, not knowing about TER, I tried it on my own...  I had a couple of ok experiences (still see one lady) before I got burned, googled TER & began my education.
You need to learn to use the search feature.  Search by stage name, then search by just phone number.
As a newbie, or anyone who wants to minimize risk of a poor date...  stick with well reviewed providers.  Check for a web site.  Check for multiple photos from different angles (IMO, less likely to be internet stolen).
Read the VIP to be sure you get a good match.  Just because a lady is TER reviewed, does not mean GOOD reviews.  (I laughed at some adds which said "TER Reviewed" & even linked to them.  Some were good reviews of quality providers, but others were "I Should Have Stayed Home"...  my thought is the ISHSH girls figure dumm guys are to cheap to join & check the reviews.
VIP costs far less than one spoiled date or wasted opportunity.

Here's the problem, the provider has a well known alias, Cali with one picture, and yet she was advertising through this agency under a different name Devon, with a different picture altogether.

So the reviews never matched up.  The golden rule is, no review, no history, no go.  I'm not doing anything unless it is a known provider.

It was through an agency, and it was all upsell once she got there.

Seems you boys are mui reluctant to take a chance on a girl with no reviews.  So me, being the lamentable lass I am, asked in the chat what I should do and someone said offer a discount to TER members.  I'm already doing that, says I.  Then they said to make a post saying I'm looking to be reviewed and I said I didn't think I could do that 'cause it's review fishing.  Then they said (this is starting to sound like a valley girl rant LOL) that they'd seen girls do that before and it was fine.

Soooo, is that fine?  Is it okay to say I'm new, I'm a good girl (if I'm your type), I'm not looking to rip you off or make your experience anything but awesome and if you'll take a chance and then review me I'll discount you?

Thanks, sorry for your crappy time, Driven.  :(

Send me airfare! :-D

BTW, I think we made somebody jealous. ;-)

LOL ME send YOU airfare??  Isn't that supposed to be the other way around?  Now that is funny, hehe!

*snickering*  Yeah, I figured that.

BTW, you should come in the chatroom, I was bored in there listening to the LA folks talk about their M&G 3000 miles away!

driven,
I thank you for the additional clarity.  So this provider works indie under one name but for an agency under another name.
There's really no protection for that, or for a lady changing her name for any reason...  but a new name is starting over!  Sometimes a lady will link to a previous name...  not sure why to change it then.
Anyway, no reviews, no visit.

Yo driven416,
Same thing happen to me last week.  In Vegas, fell for the pic and the voice.  She came to the room, very demanding, caught me off guard got her fee and left me very disappointed as she walk out in less that 15 min.  I'm hoping TER will help me avoid that in the future. Wishing you better luck in the future.

Sorry to hear that Blue.  Yeah, it is especially frustrating when you're not out to be an ass to anyone.  Last thing I want to do is to get into a tense moment while I'm naked.  So, for me it is all about expectation setting.  From what I'm reading out there, there are tons of great providers that blow your mind with the experience.

Lesson learned Blue.  Speaking of Vegas, those strip clubs are the most frustrating of all places.  Lesson learned there- for the same money you get the real deal.  Although, I have to admit, my friends and I have picked up freebies from good emotional connections at strip clubs, although few and far between.
