...and I tack on that same 15 minutes to multiple-hour sessions (though not in multiple increments).
It just allows me to take full advantage of the hour without having to watch the clock. And very rarely does it take longer than 10 minutes to put yourself together & hit the door. It's just a nice buffer.
Okay... so... Ad is up on CV (Phoenix). Check. My site is up, though I'm still waiting on photos for the gallery portion. Check. TER tag on website. Check. No reviews and no prior web presence. Check. And we're in a recession. Great.
So obviously, I didn't choose relocating to AZ as a big career move for myself. I was a provider in a very very very small town where my regulars and PT job kept me comfy. So, this part of the process is completely new to me. Any hints and tips are greatly appreciated! I obviously can't get PMs but my email is abbyleetherapy at yahoo. Otherwise, I'm not sure how else to get started here... I feel like I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go. :/
but after the initial page came up, nothing happened when I clicked "enter".
Did anyone else have this or is it my computer?
Welcome to TER MW.
Here are some suggestions:
First, read the Newbie Manual which is linked at the top of this page. It has many good tips for you and also explains how TER works. TER can be a wonder asset for you if used correctly.
Next, get some reviews. Don't be shy about asking clients to join and write reviews for you. That's how I became a member and I'm glad that they talked me into it.
Lastly, be very careful out in Phoenix. That's about the toughest town there is right now in terms of LE enforcement. Screen like there is no tomorrow.
I hope you have a great career here, and I hope I can see your site soon.
Couldn't get past the first page, and ditto everything else said. Just let the business come to you and don't do anything crazy and never compromise your standards/ethics. Good luck
I hadn't posted an ad on the regional board - Even though I've read through the FAQs and newbie manual, I'm not sure which posts are supposed to go where yet. And wanted to make sure I tested out the website on a more 'newbie friendly' crew, which seems to be located right here. (BTW, the link snafu should be fixed. Let me know if there are still problems.)
It's that sudden feeling of 'new girl shyness' when class has already started. I'd rather slip in unnoticed than make some kind of huge disruption. Thanks for all the great advice!
the best thing to do is to post a weekly ad on your local AZ board, and offer a discount to TER members with X number of existing reviews - without connecting the discount to writing a review, or a "good" review.
TER members *who write reviews* are likely to write reviews for you as well.
However, TER represents a very small portion of hobbyland.
Why not check in with the many other providers in Arizona who have a board presence and / or reviews here for some ideas?
"All one-hour sessions include a 15-minute 'cool down' period to ease the transition from fantasy back to reality."
Are those 15 minutes included in the hour (i.e., there's 45 minutes of "getting hot") or in addition to it? Do two-hour sessions not include a cool-down period?
...and I tack on that same 15 minutes to multiple-hour sessions (though not in multiple increments).
It just allows me to take full advantage of the hour without having to watch the clock. And very rarely does it take longer than 10 minutes to put yourself together & hit the door. It's just a nice buffer.
