I possibly could be doing some business travel in May and am thinking this would be a great opportunity to see some of what my destination has to offer. I should be there for the entire week and so should have the opportunity to see more than one lovely lady.
For you experienced travelers, how do you handle your cash? I am not sure if I want to really travel with a few $1000 strapped to me. ATMs are rather public, basically just spit out 20s and have a daily max that is too low. Do you use travelers checks and just cash them someplace or just find a local branch of your bank and withdraw the cash? What has worked best?Although i think it would be funny as hell to hand an escort travelor's checks, she would likely not be amused.
Why not just use the room safe or if there isn't one, use the hotel desk safe? The alternative is to let the bank know that you need to increase your daily ATM limit, they have no issue with that just let them know to what amount.....
Edited for the usual ridiculous typos...is this what old age will look like? God I hope not...

If you are driving your own car, it should not be a problem to carry the cash you need, or think you will need. I do agree about using the room safe or hotel safe. I would not want to be walking around in a strange town carrying a large sum of cash. A local branch of your back would be a good alternative to carrying cash, assuming one is near where you will be.
My only experience with this was driving my car to another state and I just carried the money with me.
Swim
But if it is to you then do as the others have suggested.
I typically carry between 500-5000 at any point in time. And often carry that when I travel.
To each their own.
I'm guessing you're not going to Vegas. LOL

which I had in my pants pocket. (You know how you have to empty your pockets now to go through those X-Ray scanners.)
So, now I get my money from ATMs. If that is not enough cash, go the traveler's check route. Some gals actually accept them. You do not have to write down to whom the check is going to, or you can write cash on them.
Also, if the city you'll be in has a branch of your bank, you can always write a check to cash and get it from them.
They gave you grief because you're supposed to completely empty your pockets before you go through the metal detector at the airport. The issue wasn't that you had cash, the issue was that you had it in your pocket.
If you withdraw more than $10,000 from the bank in a single transaction, or if you have any transaction with your bank that involves more than $10,000, it will be reported to the federal government, whether it's a legal transaction or not. This does not have anything to do with traveling domestically in the United States.
Also, the issue with traveling with more than $10,000 on a plane is only an issue when you are returning to the United States with currency. You cannot enter the United States with more than $10,000 in currency without declaring it on the customs form. It's perfectly legal to bring in as much money as you want, but you must declare it if it's more than $10,000. This is a United States customs issue, so it has nothing to do with internal domestic air travel.
$1,000 in twenties is quite a wad of cash. (No way I was going to keep it in my checked baggage or carry on.)
The TSA guy asked me why I was carryng so much.
I responded that I like to buy from flea markets, etc., and that's why I had it; you get better deals when you buy in cash. He then asked where these flea markets were. Fortunately, I really do like to buy from flea markets so I rattled off a few places I knew on S. Scotsdale Rd in Scotsdale, AZ.
He seemed satisfied and let me go - but can you imagine if I hesitated or didn't come up with an answer he liked?
I would have had to sit in a tiny room while my plane took off until they were satisfied that I was not up to no-good.
That's the American Way, you know.
Like I said in my post here I frequently carry thousands on me in $ 100 bills. I like the option to pay for stuff in cash...maybe even a hooker.
Honestly, I went thru ORD and Reagan National this week when both airports were on heightened security and I don't empty my pockets either. That's just me.
The wand me when the machine shows shit...a little pat down and on to my flight.
Had anyone asked me why I carry that much...I would just tell them I like my hookers on the expensive side. No reason to lie about that ![]()
is right about traveling w/ 10's of 1000's w/ no problem as long as it's domestic...not that it's advised, but when necessary, it's nice to know.
"The Bro" might be more to your liking. ![]()

I always carry significant cash (but under 10,000) when I travel with my friends. I simply put it in my briefcase to go through security. I was only asked about it once on our way to Vegas. When they picked my bag to search and asked why so much money I replied, "I'm going to Vegas." No problem. LOL
At the end of each day, I either make a deposit to pay a bill with, or purchase prepaid visa cards and money orders. I keep about 20 bucks in cash on me, and that's it. When I was new at touring I had the same problem of worrying about that fat envelope and flying. I was so paranoid about my purse being even 2 ft. away from me, so I started getting the idea of going to the store each day and doing the above. Makes things a hell of a lot easier. Both money orders and prepaid visa cards spend like cash. You can pay most any bill with them.
You can load up to a grand on most of these cards, and up to 500 for EACH money order, but you can buy a ton of them all at once as long as each is 500 or less. Buying money orders does not keep a record of WHO bought them, since you are not filling them out or using them until you are ready. You sign nothing at the store.
You're a guy, so this may not help you but for providers, it is a good practice. For you, I would just cash in Traveler's Checks as needed before the appt. time. Carrying a wad of cash in today's world is never a good idea for anyone...man or woman.

Bank ATMs usually don't limit the amount of money you take out the way the ones in hotels do. Also, you can go into the bank and ask them to change the $20 bills into $50 or $100 bills. I do this all the time, and they always do it for me--even if it isn't my bank (they usually only break large bills or give change if you have an account, though).
Just use Google Maps to find a bank near your hotel.
There is nothing suspicious about withdrawing cash from an ATM. Millions of people do it every day for perfectly innocent reasons. There is no reason to feel suspicious about using an ATM.
Just like every other aspect of making arrangements in this hobby, the key is to not look or feel suspicious or guilty about what you're doing. If you walk into a hotel for an incall, don't avoid eye contact with the people behind the counter. Smile at them and say hello. If you don't know where the elevators are (which you should--ask the provider for directions to the elevator so you can walk into the hotel with purpose), and you don't immediately see them, just ask where they are. If they ask if you're a guest at the hotel or something (which has never happened to me), I just say I'm meeting a friend. That's what normal people do. Just act normal.
Hell, if you forget to bring envelopes with you, just go to the front desk and if they can spare an envelope for you to keep your receipts in for your expenses. They'll probably hand you a stack of three or four. I usually actually use one for my receipts for my business trip and the rest for provider gifts.
I always put all of my valuables, including my wallet, watch and prescription medications in the room safe when I have a visitor to my room for an Outcall. The only cash I have out of the safe is in an envelope, which I usually leave in the bathroom. When my guest arrives, I'd point her to the bathroom and ask her if she'd like to freshen up. She usually sees the envelope in there and takes advantage of using the bathroom for a minute. Sometimes, I'll keep some additional cash hidden somewhere in the room in case I decide to extend and she is willing to so.
There are ways to over ride all of them. The question is how tightly MGT keeps the codes & f the staff is really trust worthy. Google it & see.
