I am a new provider getting set up on TER. I have had my site review accepted, but I am a little lost! Supposedly I should get a site listing number so I can modify my listing, but I did not, and I don't see the link in the listing to modify the listing!
Also, I am at a loss as to how to get a provider listing.. Do I need someone to review me first? And, how do I get my site listing (and provider listing once I somehow get one), to show up with an area code search?
Any help yo can give or pointers to the right places are very much appreciated....
You do need someone to review you in order to get a profile. Right now you are signed on as a TER member, just like anyone else. There is no difference in basic membership between a provider and a hobbyist. Once you get your first review, then a profile is created for you (by the first reviewer). At that point you can contact admin and have your review profile linked to your username (FrankieLove). Then everyone will know that FrankieLove is a provider. Every time you post on a discussion board, a link to your reviews will show up by your username. You will also get limited provider VIP at that time, which will allow you access to PMs and to be able to read your own reviews.
You should check out the "self help center" found at the top of the page by the life preserver. There is a lot of good information there.
Even without a proifle you can post ads on the regional ad boards (one every 7 days, you can find the ad posting guidelines in the self help manual). You can also post in discussions on the regional and national discussion boards. This will help get you known by TER members, and maybe help get you some reviews. Feel free to come back to the newbie board and ask questions. Many helpful people here. Good Luck.
one of the many helpful people here. :>) Being a newbie myself I'm still learning how to navigate TER. Welcome aboard and I hope your time here is both fun and successful. Regards......RR
Perfectstorm gave you very good and correct advice to answer your questions. Once you get a profile after your first review you can correct any incorrect information by submitting problem reports. That is the only way to change any information on your profile. There is no list of provider websites on TER, only a list of providers. Once your profile is linked to your posts, after your first review, each time you post on any forum, hobbyist can go directly to your profile without having to search for you.
If your profile has a phone number on it, a hobbyist can search for you using your phone number, but you have to let your first reviewer know it is ok to include your number in his review. If you don't tell him that, you will have to do the problem report to have your phone number added to your profile.
I appreciate the kind welcome and the help. I thought that was how it worked, but was unsure. But guess what! It's the first Friday of the month, people have paychecks and are looking to party.. I think I might get me a review this weekend!
