That is a good idea about the note in the car though, I never would have thought to do so..
Let me preface this post by saying that this is my first time ever using TER so please forgive me if I seem out of sorts...
I worked with an agency about 4 years ago prior to going to college. I recently decided (within the past week or so) to try my hand at getting back in the business independently. And oh is it confusing! I've done a little "lurking" on these boards to try and get some information but have some specific questions that hopefully other independent escorts or gentleman in the know can help me with. Please keep in mind that when I was with an agency I didn't do any advertising or have any direct communication with the clients prior to showing up so please answer as if your talking to a complete newbie.
1) Where to advertise? There are so many various websites in which to advertise that I'm a tad lost. I'm not sure if I can name them here but can anyone recommend any that are worthwhile for advertising in the northeast Ohio area? (Cleveland, Akron, Canton) I've noticed that the fees for advertising vary from 5.00 a post to nearly 200.00. Is it a general rule of thumb that if you pay more to advertise the exposure is generally greater and caters to a more professional group of gentleman?
2) Incall or Outcall? I don't plan on offering incall in my home but would like to stay local. How do you know if a hotel is "safe" to offer incall in? Have any ladies ever had skeptical looks/questions if they were staying in a hotel that was local to the address on their ID? Outcalls make me a little nervous now that I don't have a driver or security. How do you other independent ladies feel safe at outcalls?
3) Screening, how is it done? I've seen some of the questions that providers ask on their personal websites but how do you gain peoples trust to fill out those questions? What are the pertinent questions to ask?
Well those are the first few questions, I'm sorry if this is lengthy or misplaced. I appreciate any information.
You should start by letting us all know where you are so that you can get better answers to your questions from those closest to you.
Good Luck! and please be safe.
You can search all of the topics of your questions. Above your original post is a blue
box search feature. Click on it. then in the search for box, type the subject, like "escort where to advertise" or something like that. Then set the day feature at a year or more. Than watch to see all the posts. If it comes up empty change the wording. Every question that you've asked has been discussed. TER is getting a lot of newbie escorts and/or escorts coming back into the business. Maybe it's the economy.
Be safe and please make sure to screen. Good luck
I have advice about screening... I started out by asking for a phone number and website for a provider that they previously encountered. Then I would call and verify he did see her...and of course check out her website.
No I use Preferred411.com and/or Roomservice2000.com
Also make sure if you are doing oucall you have someone to call and check in and out with. It's just important someone nows where you are.
I've made it a habit to leave a note in my car as to where and who I am seeing....in the event something happens to me at least if my car is found dthere is a lead. Corny I know but it makes me feel better.
I hope this helps. Good luck with everything!

An escort named Amanda Brooks has a book called The Internet Escorts Handbook--The Foundation (I think that's the whole title...close anyway) which you may find helpful...I bought it on-line last month when I was in the process of getting started and wanted really basic information.
Since you've worked before, some of it will be info. you already know (it really is basic, for people who are brand new, or even just contemplating doing this work). She has a second handbook about using the internet for advertising...I haven't read that one yet, but I plan to--the whole internet thing is pretty daunting to me.
If you look up 'escort' on Amazon, you'll find other books by working girls. A surprising number...a lot of thwarted and/or budding writers in this biz, I guess...
Also, there are a number of of websites by and for our kind...google 'sex workers' and you'll find some of them. The majority deal with sex-worker rights and empowerment locally and internationally, but some (the ones I found helpful to my needs as a new provider) give practical advice for new independent providers. You kind of have to dig around for them; follow the links from one to the next.
And there is the fabulous ''Spread'', a quarterly magazine by, for, and about sex-workers of all stripes.
You can also check out escort blogs, although I haven't found those as helpful education-wise, some of them make for interesting reading...
Indepence rocks!

1) You are permitted one ad per week on your regional board (see left).
2) Renting a hotel room is easy. Use the internet, come into the lobby like a traveling person (suitcase of some kind, maybe a laptop bag or brief case, etc.), check-in and go to your room. Do not call attention to yourself.
Use different hotels each time.
3) Call or e-mail some ladies in your area for screening advice.
