...not the same as a board moderator. That's why his handle is red. Back when TER had local board moderators their handles were in red. That position no longer exists. TER admin now moderates the boards. They occasionally post and there designation (Board Admin or some derivation) will be in red.

and that used to include moderators, it's the reason when I was a moderator I made my official posts under my "real" handle, which would show up in red, but when I was speaking strictly for myself and/or being controversial, I would post under my alias of "GaGamblerssmarterbrother" which would look like the post of any other member.

If you do a message search back far enough, you will see my old posts from 5 years ago or so still show up in red when I moderated this board oh so long ago. lol

I used to be a moderator, but when admin decided to self-moderate, I was asked if I would serve as host of the newbie board.  When I post here, my handle is red, but when I post on any other board, my handle color is the same as everyone else.
