Looking at your great reviews and seeing the gaps I would take it that you have a great many return customers, making you more desirable to book with than someone who has several new ones every month. It is all how you look at it I guess, that is just my take on it.
I know of another hobbyist who recently paid
a year's membership that supposedly had a list
of all of the local independents in his area. I
won't mention this particular website by name, since I am not leading a campaign to ruin its reputation but he stated that over half of the independent providers on the site had either a bad email address or a disconnected phone number. In short they had likely closed up shop
and left no forwarding address. In essence, he did not get what he paid for !! Shouldn't independents remove their profile from the internet if they are no longer in business? What
websites do offer the most complete and up to date listings of independent providers in a given
area? I sometime feel the same frustration when
I email a certain independent I get worked up about and the only response I get back is "email
failure notice." Needless to say, it kind
of puts a damper on the entire hobby.
Ideally it would be great is they would and could notify all the sites that they are out of the business.
Several problems that I can think of,
The ladies probably don't even KNOW where all of the lists etc are, much less how to go about notifying all of them.
It's just a lot of trouble. From the providers standpoint, all she has to do is kill an e-mail address and a cell phone and stop thinking about it. Nothing to gain by going to all the extra effort and nothing to lose by not.
There are alot of 'paid membership' ad sites, mamy of them are a ripoff. In all likelihood the ads that are no longer legit are:
1- Ads of ladies who have been out of the business for years.
2- Ads the site pirated from other sites and the ladies cannot get them taken down, or they change the number and the lady does not even know the ad is there because she lives on the other side of the country.
3. The lady did agree at one time to place an ad and once she does they just keep it up there forever.
The best and most accurate sites are where the ladies pay for an ad on a monthly basis, the guys do not pay at all, such as Eros or Cityvibe. At Eros the dirt cheapest ad for a lady is 170.00 per month, you will not find any ads staying up there of ladies not around!
It is sad, but sites like you mentioned are usually a scam. Anyone can put a site together, gather up some old ads, advertize to unknowing hobbyists and get them to pay.
I've had my pix and info stolen countless times by upstart sites trying to look legit. The problem is, they always get something wrong... your rates, location, website.
One poor guy called me from some lame-ass site he saw me on, thinking I charged $150/hr.
At least half of all Internet ads are unauthorized fakes, so please don't blame us.
The internet is crawling with sites that are similar to what you mention, and they are just as a much of a problem for us, the providers, as they are for you.
First off, without doubt, some of the 'listings' for escorts in your area that you are looking at were probably fake right from the start. It is in these sites' best interests to appear to have a ton of traffic and information to offer. It is not uncommon for them to snag fake pics from somewhere, slap together a bogus ad, and pretend its real in order to make it look like they have alot more business than they really do.
Additionally, sites like this often cull through legitimate escort sites and simply create listings for escorts based on what they find. They don't bother to keep these ads updated, and don't bothter to contact the provider to ask her permission to post a link to her. In other words, it wasn't Suzie Q provider who created her own listing on the site, it was the website that created a listing for Suzie Q provider. She not only has no ability to control what is put there, but she in many cases, isn't even aware its been done.
My website allows me to keep track of where click throughs are coming from, and every day, I get clicks from various sources that I have never advertised on. Some of these sites I am able to track down, and at least verify that the information they provide about me is accurate. There are two sources though, that I've never been able to find the actual website where my ad is linked or listed. So someday, when I either change e-mail addys, or design a new webpage, or "go out of business" as you call it, these websites will point men toward a provider who can no longer be contacted. But its not my fault, and there isn't anything I or anyone else can do about it.
Stick with websites that are well known, and don't make you pay just to look at a list escorts. If they have to get money from YOU to run the site, they aren't getting money from the ladies - meaning the ladies don't necessarily have to be involved in creating their ads. When its free to you though, chances are we ladies are their revenue source, and when that is the case, you bet we know when there is an ad up, and what the ad says, and have control over the removal of the ad.
I do disagree in part. Many well established providers who have a steady clientel may very well not have a new review posted in several months, maybe because they do not see that many new hobbyists. (How did you like the 'esteemed collegue part)? LMAO!
Out here in the sticks even active providers can easily go 2 or 3 months without a new (TER) review. Not uncommon at all.
Not disagreeing with anyone, just pointing out that to some extent it can be location specific.
2007 - April
2006 - July twice, January
2005 - Dec, Nov, Oct, Aug, July, May, April
2004 - Dec twice, Oct three times, Aug twice, May
The longer I've been around the fewer reviews I've had, and the longer between when those reviews are posted. Eight months from last years review to this one! It does not mean that I am seeing fewer friends... I simply see mainly returning friends, and the reviews that are posted of me are on other boards that are locally oriented.
As PocketFisherman stated, active providers ofen have review gaps. Please don't discount a lady as being inactive simply because there is not a recent review.

You have a board presence and that is another thing I look for in a lady. I try to know a little about who I am going to see...if there are no reviews and no board presence I move on.
A Lady such as yourself who has a slow pace of reviews, but consistently high reviews would not be off my radar, in fact you are just the kind of lady I look for. Classy, beautiful beyond belief and nice personality on the boards.
If you ever want to pick up your review pace, you visit DC and I promise a review and a verification on Date-Check.
You are an extremely beautiful woman and you have the most deliscious looking breasts and succulent kissable lips I have seen in a while.
When are you visiting DC?
Have A Great Day!
Thank you for the kind words. I was in DC last fall... you must have missed me! If I return it'll be this coming fall.
; )
To be honest, I can understand someone thinking I'd retired with eight months and no review, if they didn't know me from the regional boards.

or at least ladies who seem to have steady review histories.
Ladies without a steady review history tend to be harder to get a feel for unless they post on the boards. If they are known personalities, the reviews are not as important, but I like to have a feel for who I am seeing and I rely on reivews or personality on the boards to give me that.
Have A Great Day, My Good Man.
Esteemed Colleague, My Good Man...LOL...You would never know we were just a couple of horny old Whoremongers...LOL.
It is my understanding that you can't post repeated reviews of the same provider (or at least get credit for it). So ladies with a steady client based won't get many new reviews. I always check their web site and if it is gone I report the problem.
B
There are websites out there that still list indy providers who have retired years ago, and they still have their profiles onboard. One example is a site for former Chicago icon Ginger:
http://playtime411.com/a/wpage.php?db=il&id=1567&cat=Escorts
She has been retired for three years now, but the website still has her profile up... go figure. I believe the above link is ok as the lady is gone but not forgotten?
Anyway, you probably get the point... stick with reviewed ladies... even those that have not had recent reviews are probably still active... what does it take to send one email or make one call? You should also consider that this hobby mirrors real life, so get used to it... do the Nigerian email scams put a damper on our lives? Probably, but who lets them bother us that much? Stay informed and have fun.
At least Ginger was once a legitimate provider! On the Eros Phoenix site, there are at least 4 ads that havn't changed in the past 4 years. No reviews to be found, and never an answer when you try to make contact.
