Texting...

There was a time a few years back when cell phone companies charged per text...therefore, many people used abbreviations in order to cut down on their phone bills. However, those days are gone and many text packages are unlimited making me wonder why so many people stick with their abbreviated ways in all forms of communication.  Even though old habits die hard, the ability to read, write and speak with (somewhat) proper grammar and spelling when communicating is still of importance if you don't want to come across as someone without even basic education. (I'm not implying this is your case, just stating a fact).

Of course, it's entirely up to you, but I know I ditch the texts and emails that come across ghetto. Rarely, do I read a board post that I have to decipher, either. This seems to be the consensus of quite a few on this board.

Have fun & play safe!

I recieved a polite message sayin my "credibility on here be greater if I "d ditch the text abbreviations and type more appropraitely wat i gott to say to that- is- i am gon do it mor now- neh neh neh neh- !    lol   my talents,  no r not in the typing dept folks !hope that doesnt make u enjoy youself any less when u do come. xo------

I will speak for myself here.  I do not text.  So your use of I presume texting abreviations makes what you have written unreadable to me.  Might as well be chineese, which I don't read either.  For good measure, I'd suggest all providers skip the CL style alternate spellings which look ghetto to me.  I would urge you to make your ads readable because many older gentlemen don't read the lingo or are turned off by it.
If you have enough clients, why advertize?  If you are advertizing, why alienate a large portion of your audience?
It's your business...  Feel free to do with it what you want.  And I'll continue to see providers who turn me on, not turn me off.

and she would never get a holler from me because of that.

But as you said, if she has more biz than she can handle she won't care that I, and a significant portion of those on TER, won't be calling.

Honey, the other problem you'll run into is if you want to use the "ghetto" and "gutter" speak on the boards you will ultimately be treated in kind.

And I suspect you are a nice gal...show that side of you that did indeed make it past the 5th grade!

would improve your credibility also. ( not a put down, just a fact )
All i'm thinking when i read ad's with poor grammer and spelling is, "Rip Off"

I'd rather spend my time with women that demonstrate enough awareness and patience to learn and routinely execute good grammar and spelling.

and I was thinking about replying to one of your posts, to say "thanks for joining the boards, and offering advice to the newbies, but a lot of what you are posting is unreadable to many." Yes, the text speak and ghetto speak might work on cl and bp, but doesn't go over well at TER. I am in agreement with the three gentlemen above me and the person who sent you the polite pm. Nobody is attacking you here, and we do appreciate you posting on the board, but if you have something valuable to share, we have to be able to read what you say. I for one hope you stick around, but improve your writing/spelling/typing style.
Good luck.

I was shocked when i looked at your web-site, angel. Your pics are really hot and to me, you look like you have class. Then i read a couple of your posts and thought, this can't be the same women??
Do yourself and us a favor, show your class. It can only help your biz!

I have to agree with most of the guys' statements on here. Many respectable, intelligent and kind men aren't going to be interested in seeing someone who APPEARS to have the intellect or mentality of a fourteen year old. I am, by no means, saying this refers to everyone...just most. When using that kind of lingo, I can only assume, most are weary that they will have drama from you, as these are usually the type of females that are out here trying to set men up and all of that other crazy nonsense. They probably will have little interest in conversing with you, now it's a get in get out mission..and they won't repeat. If this is about business...which I am assuming it obviously is. Why limit your potential gain and "credebility" as the gentleman suggested. You'd think maximizing would be the name of the game here. Gooooood luck! :)

But if this is how you communicate I can guarantee that you are losing business...

And based on her Boston board posts this is just her being her.

And it appears that guys over there are tired of her ghetto trash talk as well.

Hopefully she can learn from her predecessors the way to communicate on TER.  Otherwise I would expect she won't be needing this as part of her screening method...as I would expect that she doesn't need any to screen the 15 minute wonders.

The purpose of writing and posting is to communicate. If what you have written is illegible it won't communicate. Therefore what you have written has no purpose. You are wasting your time and ours. You will waste mine no more for I now pass over anything you post. If it isn't important enough to you to write it so that it communicates, then it isn't important enough for me to read.

Your "I don't care" attitude about it simply reinforces my conclusion. Yes, in this hobby it is truly different strokes for different folks and so there are many that also won't care but don't expect to be taken seriously when you begin to try to express yourself.

Men do care about our intellect as well as our sexuality?  Nice to know.

many of us do care about your intellect.  I enjoy just chatting with the provider, as well as the main reason why I am there, and if she can't carry on a normal conversation, well.......I probably won't repeat.

I read Angel's posts, and has a difficult time understanding all that she was trying to say.  I can live with the text abbreviations, but the ghetto-speak, just doesn't get it.  If you notice the comments from the guys about her, they are from older guys, like me.  Her attitude, and her manner of posting, just doesn't get it for us.  She doesn't seem to understand that most of her clients will be somewhat older than she is, and we don't talk like that.

It is very inportant mosy of the providers have masters or better, or work in high profile jobs. The provider must be smart and not shallow.

A master's degree or better doesn't guarantee one's intelligence.

It's all a sign of affection.  I like the people who post here.  They're very witty and controversial. As far as my reviews are concerned Ive stopped escorting, have lost 10 lbs so far and am planning to continue losing weight.   It's a new year after all.

Good luck you made a wise choice.

In text messages.  While full keyboards on many modern phones, and unlimited text plans, make proper English more feasible in texting these days... many prepaid phones do not have such luxuries.  Mine being one of them.  Use of some text lingo, if it reduces the number of texts that need to be sent, saves me money.  Using some myself saves me money and a lot of time working with the keypad(I am very careful to stick to very easily understood abbreviations and acronyms, it's not a time to show off "creative typing").

That being said, while I'll tolerate the occasional 'u' for 'you' in an ad, if it gets to the point where I'm translating rather than reading, I'm moving on to the next ad.
