check the link. Why, because I can

Cool, so on a day when your feeling ball less you can use it.
Wow, what a novel idea.

I don't want to own what I really want to say -- in other words, it's because I want to be bitchy, but I don't want to seem like a bitch.  But then I usually re-read my bitchy post and I delete it because, well, I don't like being a bitch.

I try to remind myself what Thumper (the rabbit on Bambi) said:  "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all."

Not that I always follow that rule....especially if wine has been consumed.... Ha!  But then I usually just say whatever it is that I have to say as natashalynne.

so watch out!

Interestingly, I tend to find some of the females on the board more annoying than most of the males (not you, London!  Ha!), and it makes me feel sexist.  If I were feeling more philosophical I may wonder why that is, but I'm just going to enjoy my wine instead.

Have just never seen the need or the purpose.  If I have something to say, I will say it as "me".

I say what I want, how I want, when I want, and many may not like me, or what I say... but who cares? I dont want everyone to be yes maam's

I want people to have a different opinion. It makes the world more interesting...

I do not need to hide behind the computer.. If I have something to say, I say it.

The people who rely on aliases are the shit stirrers, and the ones who like to belittle, be rude to, and hate other people for no reason.

Hi Caitlyn;
I generally believe your posts to be thoughtful and I often agree with your point of view. However, the last paragraph of this one paints with too broad a brush and I respectfully disagree. I use an alias only to write my reviews. The reason is a long story that I won't elaborate on.
I don't post much but don't believe I've ever been a "shit stirrer'' etc. There are many reasons one might choose to use an alias, including the derogatory ones you mentioned. But not all of us who employ an alias do so for nefarious reasons.
                                           Regards......RR

I meant aliases for board comments ONLY

I did not mean for reviews....I know many men choose to separate the two... To remain anon to providers or etc...

I was only referring to the ones who use them to post on the boards...

make sense?

Hi Caitlyn.
Makes perfect sense to me. :>) I have never used an alias to post comments on the discussion boards and can't really foresee any reasons I would. Simply my own two cents....RR

you are using an alias. A username with no reviews attached is the same thing as an alias. So in fact all your board posts are posted from an alias.

most people pick a user name to post under, and thats the only one they use. So  other forum members will get a idea of who the poster is personality wise... by the posts on the boards over the years...

so while TECHNICALLY the forum name you post under is a alias, its the one you allow to be associated with you and your rep freely.

so if then you want to really want to go off or let steam out or be a ass to someone, and you do not want to use the name you have spent years building a good rep under, you create a alias...which gives you a bit more anonymity on the boards, but all in all it is a way to stir the pot and be a ass if you want with out worry of anyone getting angry at you or the you that you ruin any respectful opinions of you

Touche ps. No, neither my DL nor BC say riorunner...lol And I've been told that without any reviews connected to riorunner I damage any credibility I might otherwise have. So be it. I had my reasons for setting things up the way I did though will admit I might not do it that way again if I were beginning anew.
                               Regards.....RR

I am not one of the folks who say someone without reviews has no credibility. A good example is GaGambler. Some posters hate him and some like him, but he has been around a long time, and is also a former moderator. I think he has a lot of credibility, but he has no reviews here. Another is BigPapasan. He has been around about as long as TER has, and is knowledgable about TER and the LA hobby scene, but he has no reviews.

My only point was regarding the alias issue. Granted some folks use aliases to stir shit, but most use aliases when they want to post something that does not tie back to their reviews. So if you are an "envelope" with no reviews, you are in essense, an alias.
 :)

All good points ps. I totally agree with your comments about the use of an alias. And I hadn't thought about the point you make regarding GaGambler or Bigpapasan. Maybe that means there's hope for me after all...lol
BTW...I didn't take your earlier post to mean that you felt someone with no reviews was lacking in credibility. I was remarking in a general way that I realize some do feel that way.
    Thanks for your comments ps!

You have been around a long time, and have used aliases yourself! Now you act like you don't even know the rules, let alone where to find it?!

For what it's worth, I personally use an alias to "protect" the ladies I have reviewed.
