As a basic member you don't have an id number. All you have is a 'username.' If you are a provider then you get an id number when you get your first review and your profile gets set. At that point you can link your review profile to your username. If you are a client (hobbyist) then you don't get an id number. (Actually that is not totally true, because TER assigns you some number for their internal purposes but it is not important to you or anyone else, and most folks don't know their number and don't care)
I'm not sure when or why, but when you have some providers on your favorite list, you can get emails from TER letting you know when they get new reviews. However, this is not automatic, you have to check in your account manager that you want to be notified of your faves' new reviews. But for the guys, the number is basically worthless. The ladies ID number helps locate their profile.
