My name is Paris, and I am new to TER.  This may be a dumb question, but how do I link my first review to my profile?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Once you locate your reviews, just click "Link to this Review" and follow the instructions from there.

The "link to this review" button is for providers to create direct links to their reviews from their websites.
It is not for linking their profile to their username which is what the OP seems to be asking.

You need to email TER admin at [email protected] from the email address on your review profile and ask them to link your reviews to your username "gemaparis." Hopefully, you signed up for your account from the same email address which is on your profile. That makes it easier.

Once you have the link, you will have Limited Provider VIP. This will give you the ability to read your own reviews and to use the TER PM system.

Good Luck:)

Hi Paris,
Not certain exactly what you mean by "linking your first review to your profile". If you have a review here on TER the review is already connected to it. Your profile is created by the first guy that writes a review for you. His review will be at the bottom of your profile. Guys that want to find out about you can read your profile and the review. (Note: you don't automatically have a profile just because you have signed up as a member of TER. You have to have at least one review that was written and submitted by a TER member. He creates your profile.)

If you are asking how to connect your user name ( gemaparis) to your profile, which I assume is under the name Paris, then follow the information I have copied/pasted below. It comes from the Self-Help Center which can be found at the upper right of the discussion board under the red & white life preserver. I suggest you read all the info you find there as it will answer many of the questions you will have as a new provider on TER. When you follow the instructions below you will be given the free limited provider VIP membership that TER has set up for providers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HOW TO REQUEST TO BE UPGRADED TO PROVIDER VIP

The first step to a provider taking advantage of complimentary limited provider VIP is the provider requesting that her username be linked to her review profile.  You can check to see if this has already been done by looking at one of your messages posted on this board. Look for a link that says "See my TER reviews"  just under the subject line and to the right of your username. If it's already there, then you're linked. If it's not, click on  "Contact Us"  at the bottom of the page and request to have your reviews linked to your user name. Please make sure to include your provider ID number or a direct link to your review profile in the message. Alternatively, if you cannot locate your profile ID number,  you can include the contact
information that is listed in your TER review profile, such as your phone number, email address, or website.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking at your post I don't see the link under your user name saying "See my TER reviews" so do the "contact us".

Your provider ID# will be on the upper left of your profile. (if you have one) Based on your question I am assuming you know that you do have a review here and therefore a profile.

I suggest reading several pages of this discussion board (the "Newbie" board) because many of the questions are asked regularly and you can find answers by doing so.

Welcome to TER and have fun.

I am not going to say you are wrong because I know you are just copying and pasting what TER says. I used to give that same advice here for providers to use "contact us," to link their profiles. However while personally helping a few providers get their link and contacting Admin myself to find out why they weren't getting the link, this is a direct reply I got from admin:
"She must contact us from her email account, NOT from her user account."

Since then I have been giving the "email" advice, as I did here.

As you know, TER is not always consistant in thei rules or instructions. :

I was going to look for it right after posting my reply above, and then add it to my post as an edit. You saved me the trouble. :)

I'll make note of it. I did edit the copy and past portion though because it actually says "contact us" can be found at the upper right. It may be there on some pages (I couldn't find it) but not all of them and not on the discussion boards but it's always on the bottom of the page.

Some of these instructions are from the time when "classic" is all there was. I've asked them to update these instructions but they just reply that they give out the correct links when contacted. Not the most efficient method. I guess I get not searching for the things that need correcting but once it's pointed out to them why not go ahead and change it.

First of all, when you have a question you should start a new thread, rather than posting as a reply to an existing thread. This way your question is likely to get lost in the thread rather than generate answers. In any case, since I saw it, I will answer.

To get a TER number, you need a review profile. If you already have reviews here then you have a number and a profile, and you will need to link your profile to your username. See my reply above to paris to find out how. To find out if you have reviews go to "reviews" at the top of the page and then "search reviews."  Try searching under your provider name, phone number and email address. If you find reviews, go ahead and ask for the link. If you don't have reviews you will have to wait until you get your first review. Your first reviewer will set your profile, then you will have a TER number and you can ask for the link to your username. You can also update or correct your profile if your reviewer got it wrong.

I recommend you read the self help center (you can find it at the top of the page by the life preserver), and read back on this newbie board a bunch of pages. Then feel free to come back and ask questions here on the newbie board.
Good luck.
