The front desk- How do I get in

you should have no problems.  Make sure you know where the right elevators are, so you don't have to ask.  Your date should be able to tell you when you call for the room number.

The desk clerk very likely will not know whether you are guest or not.  So just relax and walk right to the elevator, press the button, and go up and enjoy!!!!

Act like you belong there.  Hotel staff are not in the habit of hassling guests with intimidating questions.  When they say "can I help you" just say "no thanks, I'm all set" and keep on walking.  They will simply assume that you know where you are going.

If you don't already know which direction the elevator is past the front desk you might want to ask the lady you are seeing.  Being able to walk through the lobby with a bit of authority is a good confidence builder. Remember, it's not against the law to visit someone staying at a hotel.  Friends, relatives and business associates do it all the time.  Just don't mention the name of the woman you are visiting and for goodness sake don't go to the front desk and ask them how to get to room "****".

I am brand new and just went the P411 route and landed a date with a great provider with excellent reviews. I'm extremely excited! I've researched for a few years for, so I don't feel that much like a first timer for proper etiquette and I know once I'm in the door I'm good.

The issue is the hotel. It's right near where I work (long after hours no problem) so I did a dry run today to get the lay off the land. It's kind of high end which is great with the front desk right at the door. The appointment is on the later side after the bar is closed and I'll call when I get there, but once she gives me the room number walking in and finding it has me terrified. There's rooms in both directions with no elevator key required, but how do I handle the inevitable "can I help you" ? What do I say ? I'm meeting a friend in room 123, then comes the follow up questions. They wouldn't let a non guest just walk in right ?

The front desk staff honestly doesn't know why you're at the hotel.  Most elevators are located right in or near the lobby. You shouldn't have a problem finding it. Once you reach the correct floor, there are usually room # signs that will direct you in the right direction.  And remember, if the escort has the door locked don't knock to loud. You'll be fine, just remember to breathe and put the cell phone away as you enter the lobby.

This situation used to bother me, too. However, its been my experience that if you are well dressed, and act like you belong, the desk staff won't even engage you. I opt for the sport coat, polo shirt, and slacks look when I hobby. I know the layout of the lobby and elevator location because I've looked at the pictures almost every hotel posts on their website. And while walking in, I have my IPhone to my ear, faking a conversation (e.g. "Yes- I'm in the lobby and I'll be right up.")  If I'm ever asked, I'm meeting a friend for dinner. Alternatively, many hotels have side entrances that are unlocked during the daytime, and which you can use to discretely enter, thus avoiding the desk altogether.

The only wrinkle in this plan is that many Vegas hotels, and some higher end hotels in larger cities, require a key card to access the elevator. If this is the case, the lady will need to meet you in the lobby, for instance at the bar.

Just a few thoughts from a horny hobbyist...

A good provider will give you specific instructions on where the elevator is in the lobby and how to get to the room once you get off the elevator.

Smile at maids and hotel staff if you happen to cross paths with them just like if you were a guest staying at the hotel.

I'm sure you have stayed in hundreds of hotel rooms as part of your normal life. Has anyone ever stopped you and asked who you were or what you were doing there?

You blow past the front desk without stopping or looking lost.  You need to know where the elevators are & head straight there.  In a strange hotel, ask the lady...  it's typically through the lobby & right off the main corridor but it's hard to look confident when you don't know which way to turn.  Just knowing which side it's on is a great help.
Best to call from the car, then put your phone away.   Once you get to the elevator you are home free.

I am a relative newbie; started the hobby this past January.  I was reluctant and hesitant when entering a hotel lobby too.  After your first encounter, you will lose all inhibitions since you know the fun that awaits.  Don't walk in the lobby like you belong; walk in like you own the F.....g place!  By the way, I always wear a sport coat, and stylish, well fitting clothes.   Smile, make eye contact with the person at the desk, and say "good evening".  No one, I repeat, No one will ask you any questions.  Have fun!

I was in a hotel recently that had separate elevators banks on different sides of the lobby.  Each one served a different set of floors.  So I just asked the provider when I got her room # whether it was the elevator bank to the left or the right of the front desk.  But this is unusual.  Mostly, there's just one elevator bank.  Either way, an easy problem to solve.

Thanks everyone for your advise. This place does have some guest rooms way right and some straight and to the left.  The most spread out rambling lobby I've seen. I'm sure my girl will let me know. I'll dress like I belong and let er rip!

If you look like you know where you're going, they probably won't bother asking you anything.  If they do ask, just tell them you're meeting a friend.  If you have any concerns about possible hassles with the desk or with security, ask the lady when she gives you the room number if there issues with this that she knows about.  If so, she probably already knows, and will give you advise as to how to steer clear.

Just walk in acting like you are on your cell phone and they will leave you alone.  If you take a wrong turn, it's like you got distracted by the phone call.  Easy.
