How do you tag someone on this site?

I want to write something and tag someone across the country what's the best way to do this?

I want to make sure they see what I write.

What is tagging?

Is that some social media thing where you you re-send or link a post to twitter, facebook and stuff like that?  Many (most?) people on TER want to keep away from social media. It can penetrate and break down the barrier between the real world and the TER world  like you wouldn't believe.

Take out a personal ad in their local newspaper? (Old style social media.)

The only tagging I have seen is on Facebook.

And all that does is place a name on someone's picture.  I have never seen anything like that done on TER.  Previous suggestions of PM is prob the best way to go.
