I found an add on CL and emailed this provider. She sent me to her web page which costs a dollar to access her number. i'm guessing this is a scam, however, being new to this i could see the reason why a provider may want to keep their contact info private. does anyone have any advice?? Should I try and see? It just seems stange to me but I am too much of a newbie.

It does sound strange. You have lots of other choices. Skip CL and use TER's search-reviews tool to find plenty of certified providers in your area.

Most of them do not involve actual providers who are available. Phone scams, text message scams, web cam scams...you name it. Just move on.
