Don't want to be a downer, but how prevalent are STDs in the hobby? How often do providers test themselves?

No guarantee on Back Pages however.   Most girls do not get tested often at all.  The tested evrry 3 month thing is bull shit in most cases.  Some girls never get tested or only if they think they have a problem.

That is not true, & unless you are a provider, you cannot say what we do, or do not do. Are there ladies who only get tested when they feel something is wrong? Of course. But there are MANY more who DO get tested on a regular basis... the norm is every 1-3 months. This is a ladies profession, & to not ensure you are safe, could very well mean the end of your "career".

In fact, it is the very opposite, & it is a large majority of gents that never get tested unless there is a slip-up, or they feel something is wrong.

Differentiating between the possibilty of a provider having an STD based on if they are reviewed or not or where they choose to advertise is asinine. In addition, you have NO idea what MOST girls do. Please stop giving out horrendously uninformed advice here.

I'm really new to this, but as a "Newbie" coming in I want to come out of this safe by testing every damn chance i get. Most importantly, being damn careful as I were before getting into this business. #justsaying

Think again, dude. Many providers (high end or not) are offering BBFS, so that in itself has nothing to do with where she advertises. Also, it's the "tested every 30 days" that is usually the bogus claim, as it proves nothing. 90 days is about right for most any disease to start showing in your bloodstream, except with some rare instances of HPV, and at times HIV. The CDC even admits that saying "6 months to show signs" is VERY conservative, but those in the Health Care field, know otherwise. It is usually only about 3 months, before most diseases manifest.

on yourself and as Ref Mills Lane always says "protect yourself at all times"
There are STD's out there and don't let anyone say that well reviewed providers don't have them too. They are not immune and some of them participate in risky practices. While the risk is lower, it is still there.

Is the best thing you can do:

(1)  Hobby safe.  Just say no if she offers uncovered lovemaking.  It is like blackjack, one key is being CONSISTENT with what you are going to do on 16, sticking with the same plan all evening.  Covered is the plan.  How you want to handle blow jobs is up to you.....there is additional risk for you as well, but I doubt that covering anyway is the norm.

(2) Tell your doctor that you are having sex with multiple partners and that you want an "open order" for STD testing at the lab.  I go every six weeks and have been doing sosince I started hobbying about 15 months ago.  If anything ever comes up hot, he will call.
