new to this hobby any just wondering if any one have ever caught any std.

Most common have been HPV (genital warts) and chlamydia contracted through BBBJ

If I remember correctly you stated in another of these threads that you don't get tested and that in your opinion anything that doesn't cause symptoms isn't an STD.

That makes for a pretty qualified "no".

I did once catch a virus that caused lesions "down there" and took most of 9 months to clear my system (not HPV, but I can't think of the official name right now).  I got immediate medical attention at the onset of symptoms, abstained from all contact during the infection and until I was assured by 2 physicians that my system had fought it off and there was absolutely no danger to any partners.

I don't think it is common, but it is possible.  Just one of the risks we live with to play this game and each of us has to determine whether the various risks are justified by the rewards.

You will find that very few hobbyists or providers will be wiling to make such an admission.  The providers would rightly fear an impact on business and the hobbyists fear that it will affect their ability to get an appointment.

It was actually first (mis)diagnosed as herpes.

Thankfully My dermatologist and my urologist were better versed in such matters.  The virus was actually Molluscom (sp?), and returned a clear herpes culture.  I have since had two more clear blood tests and been assured by both that everything is fine.

Thanks for your concern though :^)

I have been reading many of the newbie hobbyists’ concerns relative to the risk of catching std’s.  I have tried not to bristle too much when I read them;  but, unfortunately, the queries seem  to  always come across “to me” that the newbie hobbyist assumes he does not bring potential risks into this game when he first starts.

Certainly, everyone in this day in age has to be concerned about the transmission of HIV, as well as many of the numerous, sometimes unknowingly-transmitted,  stds that can make one’s life absolutely miserable.   But there are times that I wonder, to myself, how many new hobbyists and/or providers get themselves checked “before” they go play.

Please consider that the majority of providers, who take this activity serious, will keep her personal hygiene and/or health maintained at a higher level than most civie women.  We keep our “goodies” in pristine condition, have ourselves checked on a consistent basis, and take a lot more care of ourselves because it is our business.  Also consider that providers are probably more concerned about acquiring something more from new hobbyists who haven’t yet learned to play the game, or acquiring something from more experienced hobbyists who try to “sneak it in” without putting on the “coat.”  Serious playmates do not take unnecessary risks.

We also keep in the back of our minds that hobbyists, as well as other providers, could possibly be maintaining unprotected sexual relations with their significant others, who for the most part may not not know where their “girlfriends/boyfriends” or “husbands/wives” have been.  For those reasons alone, we are much more cautious.

Now, none of this is to say you might not run into a provider who thinks the word “hygiene” is interpreted as a greeting, (“Hi, Gene!”); but hopefully, if you take your time and make the right decisions, you will never meet her.

You have to come into this game safe and know how to stay safe.  Unfortunately, there are no guarantees.

Good luck.

Love,
Alex
