Fake review by angry guy I refused to meet

Does TER ever remove fake reviews?

Or is it just something they post to seem fair?

I'd use the contact us link or report a problem.  There would be some back & forth with Admin.  If you have emails, or can get verification of location.  Members don't like false reviews & neither does Admin.

First, why are you posting on the Newbie board when you have over 60 reviews?

You have no chance of removing the review if you actually met the guy. So just move on and not waste your time. The fact that you don't like it does not make it a "fake" review. Even if it contains false information, it will be your word against his and he will get the benefit of the doubt.

If you never met the guy, then send him an email telling him as much. Ask him for the date, time and location of the so-called meeting. Was it outcall or incall. If the latter ask him for the room number (which he should not have if he did not meet). Ask for a written response within 5 days. If he doesn't respond, forward the email to TER administration, explain that the review is fake and ask them to remove it. Good luck.

Newbie or otherwise, if you have a "how does this work?" kind of question, then this is where it belongs, IMO.

I'm about as un-Newbie as it gets and I still post questions here from time to time.   Hell, I had nearly 100 reviews when I first JOINED this site, and knew next to nothing about TER.

Being an experienced provider or hobbyist does not mean one knows all the ins and outs of the review system, the message boards, or anything about this site.

But since you ASKED, far be it from me to withhold my opinions! :-)

According to the OP, she did NOT meet the writer.  So it's her right (and indeed, it serves the review system well) to contest/remove any fake review.  :-)

The fact that you don't like it does not make it a "fake" review.
Perhaps this is not how you intended it, but this smacks of the attitude that ALL providers are little more than hustlers and inveterate liars.  The complacent belief that the vast majority of reviews here are not only real, but accurate, and any provider claiming otherwise is clearly only doing so because she doesn't want the truth to be known.

I cannot tell you how many times I've heard those exact same words.  And it's just plain disheartening.

Well, let me tell you something (else, lol): I've had a few totally fake reviews removed within this past year; most of them had scores that fell in line with my averages, did not say anything negative about me, and yet I still contested them.  Why on earth could that be?!
Because they were faker than my tits, that's why.   ;-)

It's absolutely going to be a case of he-said/she-said but not all fake-reviewers will bother with it.
So if he doesn't respond to TER's queries, it will most likely be removed.  Unfortunately, those with an ax to grind probably will fight tooth and nail to do as much damage as possible.

As to the reviewer always getting the benefit of the doubt? Gee, that again seems to be evidence of the attitude that providers cannot be trusted any farther (or is it further?) than one can fling a used condom.

It isn't always the case, either. If the provider has a better history here on TER (as a contributor/poster, not just as a provider) than the reviewer.... well, it can just as frequently swing in her favor.

If you never met the guy, then send him an email telling him as much. Ask him for the date, time and location of the so-called meeting.

That's pretty much what TER will instruct her to do.  They then tell the provider to wait 3 days, and let them know if she hasn't received a response from him.  If he doesn't respond to her or them, then the review is removed.  Now, the reviewer can still get in touch with TER later, and if they're satisfied with his response, they'll put it back.

BUT.... I learned from the first go-round with this process to contact TER immediately, because that 3-day-waiting-period only starts from the time they are contacted.  And yeah, it can make a difference.

So the provider needs to write to the reviewer, then right after that contact TER to inform them of her suspicions, stating that she has already written the reviewer to ask for verification that they did indeed meet.

I wish the OP the very best of luck in what might, unfortunately, be an uphill battle! MUAH!!!

often wrong, but seldom in doubt! You obviously misunderstood the literal language of my response. It contained 4 specific assertions, all of which are true and your verbose comments don't refute them:
1. If you met the guy, you have no chance of getting review removed;
2. If you met him and don't like the review it is not for that reason "fake."
3. Even if it contains false information, it will be your word against his
4. If you never met the guy, follow the TER procedures.

If you have any basis for your disagreement with the truth of these statements, other than your emotional rant, I would be interested in hearing them. Actually, I wouldn't. Enough pointless words already.

I have no idea why you used my post to vent and make assumptions and give interpretations and meanings that were neither implied or intended.

Peace

OK, what did I write that was wholly incorrect?    I'm almost always up for a friendly debate! :-)

Technically speaking, this is untrue.  However, as I don't wish to provide a how-to on beating the system, I'll leave it at that.  Please feel free to PM me for clarification.  :-)

 2. If you met him and don't like the review it is not for that reason "fake."
Correct.  I simply wondered why you even wrote that?  It sounded as though you were doubting the OP, who clearly said that she did NOT meet the writer.  It is that perceived attitude, that any provider claiming a review is fake is only doing so because she just doesn't like the review, to which I take exception.  Please know that I sincerely hope this is NOT your attitude, but it is a prevalent one.

Yes, and I already agreed with that statement.  I only took issue with your assumption that the writer's word would be given more "benefit of the doubt" than the word of the provider.

 4. If you never met the guy, follow the TER procedures.
You did not outline TER's exact procedures, though.  You instead gave her another formula which, while helpful, is not what TER instructs providers to do in this instance.  :-)

Emotional ranting, me?  Nah.  I am, however, a big know-it-all and don't mind admitting to it.  :-P

Ok Miss "Know it All" I am headed to Chicago next month and I will PM you under my "real" fake name to set up a time to meet for a couple of hours. Let's let our bodies do the talking :-)

The guy is garbage if he did that. He most likely will ignore her requests and just walk away.

So glad I do not have to deal with crap. I would if the system was fair but it is not.

It could take some time and you have to write TER and show them proof. Even if the guy wrote them it would still take time. My advice to you is to just let it go. If you are established and well reviewed a seasoned hobbyist will see that there is no similarities with the previous reviews and the one in question.

I think there comes a time where you no longer care. I got to that point. I know how I look and I also know the kind of provider I am, so for someone to say something negative regulars will know it's fake or that there was something wrong with him and perspective dates are going to read at least 3-4 reviews before they book you. So don't pay mind to it.

I also realized that you can't please everyone and that some people are just dicks, therefore, why stress it. He lied that's fine your dates will realize he lied the minute they meet you and have a session with you. There's always that one moron that wants to rain on your parade. Who knows maybe you remind him of an ex girlfriend who dumped him. Don't lose sleep over it.

the burden of proof is on the provider's back.  She has to present sufficient information to convince admin that the review is fake.  If they do not feel convinced that it is a fake review, they won't remove it.

LLAP,
Swim

Even if it's an uphill battle, I think you should at least begin the process and file a report. Now there will be at least ONE provider alleging that the guy has at least one fraudulent review of a meeting that never took place. If it happens to someone else and they report the problem, that's two. And so on. As the evidence mounts, TER may finally decide to ban the guy and retroactively delete those old, fake reviews.

Good luck
