Gee, I Feel Like a Newbie - Hotel Question

Look guys, experienced hobbyist, but I've never booked a hotel before. But I want to, for a hottie who never does incalls.

So my question is, how? I can't put it on the credit card, my wife will notice that. Pay in cash, then? I'll still need to leave them with a credit card for incidentals, but I guess as long as I don't purchase an incidental (or have them accidentally bill me, yikes that would be bad), then I would be OK, no?

Seek help on this one, thanks.

you can get a prepaid card almost anywhere these days.

get the provider to book the room and reimburse her for it.

AAA auto club has great VISA card that is
pre-paid, no bills sent!!

Have her book the room. Yes well normally of course that is how it's done. However, as this provider only does outcalls, and I am a new customer, I'm not sure she'll bite. That's an incall then, isn't it? I mean, if I don't show up, she's out a hotel bill.

Doesn't hurt to ask, though. But if I were her, I probably wouldn't do it.

Many hotels want a CREDIT card at check-in.  That's the only way they can guarantee that they'll be able to get paid if you do something like trash the place or decide to order $1000 of champagne from room service, or place hours of phone calls to Uzbekistan.

When they do take debit or prepaid cards, they'll usually take a sizable deposit -- 2 to 3 nights of lodging -- which means you'll need a fairly hefty balance on that prepaid card.

I agree with the other advise here.  Use a card to guarantee the room, but do not pre-pay.  Settle in cash at the end of the stay.

What the hotel will want varies from region to region, and hotel to hotel.  Generally speaking, the better the hotel, the more security they're going to want from you.  Lots of ladies, of course, won't go for cheaper hotels, so it may be tough to find a balance between your desire to not use a CC, and her expectation of meeting in a location she feels is reasonably safe.

As others have stated. But if you want to just pay cash most hotels will just ask for a cash deposit for incidentals which they reimburse when you check out.

The smartest route is to just reimburse the provider for the room. Too many horror tales out there where a guy rents the room then lets the provider keep the room the rest of the night. Lots of things could go wrong with that.

When checking in you Can use your regular credit card. But when checking out (yes you'll actually have to physically check out of the Hotel instead of just leaving the key in the room) simply tell the desk clerk that you would like to pay cash. You will get the final paid bill unless you've charged anything to the room ie: food, drinks, movies, phone calls, etc. and no bill will be sent.

Of course if you are involved in any type of rewards program either through your card or the Hotel chain, this Will show up on your statement.

All in all, probably much less hastle going with pre-paid card.

This was a suggestion made to me, and I said in another post I'd try.

Frosty silence. My email which until now has been answered in 2 hours, went unanswered over the past 24 hours.

Oh well.
